Caught in the Middle

A group of us went out to dinner last night, we were in three separate cars.

Our friend  driving the car in the lead missed the accident by a few minutes. We were in the second car, the accident happened in front of us. As we slowed down, we heard a loud crash, we could feel the vibrations in our bodies, the impact was that strong…right behind us cars piled up…accidents surrounded us! Amazingly, we were not hit!

At the same time, the third group of friends, in the car behind us… saw the wreck happen in front of them!

Our entire group of friends were either ahead, or between or after the accidents.

Though at that moment we didn’t know who had been hit or not. My husband instantly jumped out of the car to see if he could help. I thanked God we were safe, standing there I prayed for those around me…

The sobering reality of life and death, sadness, fear, words of comfort and concern, my eyes and heart searching the reality of the moment though it seemed like a movie being played before me, tears of pain and confusion heard…

In a matter of a few minutes, on a small section of the freeway life was altered, and we drove away in silence and naked awe.

  1. I am relieved that you were spared. I wonder how many times we avoid such things…and are unaware of it… due to the sovereign grace of God.
    Cherish this day, dear Corey.

  2. so glad that you are alright corey.
i am exactly that when i see an accident, or simply even see or hear and ambulance drive by with the blue lights sirening.
i take a deep breath, say a little prayer, try to send good energy out and make a wish, that everything will be just fine.

I’ve been in a horrible car accident in my first week in France 21 years ago, while driving home from a discotheque in Bandol, the guy drove like he was crazy and my friend and I couldn’t stop him so I saw the accident coming and prayed. Luckily we all were just slightly hurt and your post made think back how really lucky I was and you’ve had a guardian angel too last night!

Hope you are blessed and the angels guard you every step.
