A Jewel in the Crown

The jewels in my crown are not diamonds, I don’t have rubies, or an emerald, not even a pearl! The crown I own wasn’t bought with money, nor given to me on a silver platter. The jewels in my crown are not bright eye catching gems.

No.

The crown I wear is above my heart. Ruling my day and directing my path. Some of those stones are heavy, some roughly cut, it is a crown in progress, held together by courage, gratitude and faith.

What are the jewels in your crown? Where do you bow? What do you hold as valuable?

The jewels in our crown are placed there by our daily actions, our thoughts and how we live life…

In the words of Saint Augustine: We are shaped and fashioned by what we love.

Honor your life with what you love, place it firmly in your crown.

Jewels in my crown are continually flourishing. Sometimes they wilt and even disappear, but I know another will take it’s place.
Life wouldn’t be as interesting if we had the same ole’ jewels in our crown.

Things you love should also swirl around you, like a warm and embracing cloak, as you walk through life.

Oh, Corey! You are a jewel in and of yourself! Why would you ever need any adornment???
    🙂
I love this…in my crown are rose buds, sprigs of lavendar, spearmint leaves, wound with confederate jasmine in bloom, and heart-shaped images of the ones I love…and maybe a little miniature buddha is in there, too 🙂

Britton would be pearls (with her softness and beauty), Brent would be an emerald (showing strength) and Garet would be a red ruby ( a sure firecracker). Beautiful photo…”We are shaped and fashioned by what we love”…interestingly,I wrote those words down two weeks ago after reading this quote (elsewhere). Then, I proceeded to write the list of all that I love. That list will never be finished because I think it will grow as I move into different phases of my life. But the foundation of love is always there.
