Headache

I hate headaches. I have had them since I was a kid. I was told not to say, HATE. It was a bad word in our house. I HATE headaches!

Is the new catch word for headache, migraine? I hate migraines!

I have them both. I know the difference. I can function with a headache.

I know I have said "I" alot…

"Aie," pronouced, "I," in French, means: OUCH!

I I I I I I I I I… am off to bed.

  1. miss corey,
sorry to hear of your pain. 🙁
your post reminded me of my mom…who also had both headaches and migraines (blindingly sometimes). as a child i told her, ‘i hate you!’ and she calmly responded, ‘hate is a STRONG word.’…made me look it up in the dictionary and write 100 times something to effect of ‘hate is a strong word. i will not use the word hate. i will find another way to express myself.’ i hear her voice in my head whenever i hear the word ‘hate’…28 years later. mom’s are amazing.

  2. And when you awake, rested, your headache will be…gone.

  3. Poor you! As a lifelong migraine sufferer, I can identify. Try to get lots of rest and stay away from bright lights—–and the computer!

  4. Oh darling friend I get those wicked headaches as well.
    Rest, relax and rejuvinate.
Healing hugs and best of wishes…………..
Love and smiles across the miles.

  5. Awww poor Corey dear I’m so sorry to read this! I know how you feel! Aie! I hate them too! If you ask me a migraine is much worse and takes much longer than a normal headache and pills are unfortunately not helping. After a while you get sick of the pain and have to puke. Oh well at least that’s what it’s like in my case. All you can do is laying down in a dark room and waiting and hoping and praying and trying to sleep until it’s finally over! All fingers crossed that it’ll be over very quick! Hope you’ll feel better soon!

  6. As a fellow newcomer on the migraine scene I am sending hugs. I hate the damn things. I get them all the time since the birth of my second daughter and we haven’t figured out major triggers. Take a rest and I hope you wakeup renewed.

  7. This beautiful Roman(?) mosaic pattern does NOT give me a headache…Just the opposite 🙂 I want to look & look & look again at it.All that variation. And wrought by feet walking on it, yours included…Rome is like that, full of history you can’t ignore, like a headache.

  8. “Aie!!” …feel better soon!!

  9. I have a lingering headache today too (though I am sure not as bad as yours) and me too I went to bed… is it the communion of headaches? Hope you get better. The photo is fantastic, it says it all, it is a headache!

  10. Close the curtains, turn off the lights… and close those
eyes… take care… headaches are the worst.

  11. *kiss* your head.
    hope it feels better:)
Sometimes if you have someone rub that fleshy section between your thumb and pointer finger it sometimes help.
Or right under your orbital bone on your eyes, press firmly, like at the beginning of your eyebrow, under your orbital bone.
Or just rest:) like you are:o)

  12. Oh dear! Feel better soon!

  13. Hope you are feeling better soon. Lovely photo.

  14. Sorry you are feeling bad today. I’m off to work… Feel better soon.

  15. Hate is one of those words we love to hate…without we just couldn’t express that feeling we have for something like headaches!!! ” don’t like” …it just doesn’t have the same satisfaction that “hate” does… I have tried to get my four year old not to use it…but she really wants to…she knows its a powerful word…and a good one at that!
    take care!
    xo hope you feel better!!!

  16. Do take care dear Corey and rest up. I hope your nasty headaches go away for good !!! Love and Hugssss

  21. Migraines are pure evil. I only get them like, every other year or so, and they totally suck! The air around you hurts, as does any other movement or light. Please, please, stay under the covers and get better Corey!!! Thoughts/prayers,
    Julie

sorry to hear about your headache…”faith! that’s with watching. Let me but bind your head. ‘Twil away within the hour.” my few remembered lines as “desdemona” in a vignette of “othello” during a high school shakespeare festival. take care. gentle hugs – snowsparkle

I get those too. Horrible! I hope you get better soon.

  26. I hope you feel better soon, Corey. Close your drapes, lie down on the bed and think of peaceful days in the South of France, visiting those inspiring fleamarkets, finding the perfect object that everyone else somehow missed… Hmmm…think I’m going to lie down now too! Really, I hope you’re up on your feet soon.

  27. oh corey I hope you feel better!!!
    I love the photo…

  28. Corey, I am so sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well. I get the horrible headaches too…also since I was very young. Something that was told to me not too long ago that sometimes helps is to drink a lot of water. You might want to try? I’m sending you my best wishes dear friend and hope this one doesn’t last too long.

  29. Hugs to you. I hope the headache’s gone by now. Mine are barometric, they come just before it’s going to rain, when there are large barometric shifts. XOXO

  30. I I I I I I hope you feel better!

  31. Goodness it seems that headaches are universal! Truth be told, I’d rather have a headache in France then in California… Have that French Husband of yours put his palms over your eyes, the darkness and slight pressure always feels good. I hope you feel better soon, what would we do without our daily dose of ‘Corey’s Wisdom’?

  32. Aie aie aie! Feel better!

  33. take care of yourself. i’ve had both headaches and migrains and they both suck! a migrain can ususally wipe me out for a day or two and i always hate that. i HATE headaches too!

  34. So sorry to hear you are ill. Headaches are no fun. Prayings for healing and a fast recovery.

  35. Feel, better, Corey! I hate headaches, too!!

  36. I am so sorry to hear you have a headache! They are the worst! I frequently get migraines and they force me into a dark room for hours. I hope in the coming hours you feel better! Take advantage of the opportunity to close your eye and rest. Sometimes the body is just trying to give you the rest you deserve. At least thats how I justify the pain brought on by a migraine in my own head . . .

  37. Brother Mathew

Terrible bad. Uncle Frank and Aunt Eva May’s 50th Saturday. Too much bourbon. Headache in the morning.

  39. Dear Corey,
I was just thinking this morning of how much you bless us with your thoughts/posts.
I was meditating on your post:
    Words
Two words that are just as important as three:
    I Care!
And, I just want you to know that I care that you are in pain and pray that your pain will be gone by morning!
    Love,
    Joanne in Ontario

  40. So does that mean you have an “aie-y” in your head? Sorry that you’re not well…tomorrow is a new day. Feel better.

  41. I hate migraines too. I get them on occasion and they’re brutal.
I hope you’re feeling better by the time you read this 🙂

  42. Hope you feel better soon Corey. :0)

  43. peekaboo! Oh my poor headachey sweetie! I’ve suffered with migraines (auras, nausea, the whole barfy thing!!) since I was 10. I truly feel your pain.

    kissies

  44. Dear Corey,
My husband used to get them all the time and now he rarely does. I hope that will be the case for you as well. He met me and his headaches disappeared!!! That is what I say anyway! Love to you.

  45. I’ll hate that migraine for you, then, friend. . . .

  49. Yes, I know, I was raised like that, we can’t say hate, or feel it, only in spetial circunstances, for instance, we hate sin but not sinners, we hate the devil but never a person, even if the person is very bad, because hate means to want bad thing for that person. And so on.

  50. Yes I know all about migraines! I suffered since a child. Have been taking effective meds for them..works!! Low barometric pressure trigger mine! Getting less with age…hummm

  51. Wow…you really struck a nerve with this post…50 comments! I wonder how many of us suffer in silence! I’ve been to the doctor with my migranes and after trying a multitude of prescription migrane medications, they want to put me on an anti-depressant! Ha! I guess I’ll stick to Excedrin Migrane…it’s the only thing that works for me!

  52. Hormone headaches for me ~ but they too are getting better and less frequent with age (aging does have a few benefits). Hope you’re all fixed by now.
BTW … love the image you chose!

  53. Hi. My name is Ascender. I have headaches. It looks like a full room tonight!
