Flip flops are my favorites. I have a comfortable old pair from Old Navy that remind me of the kind I had in the 70’s.

Yes, flip flops are in; even with a classy and elegant skirt, I have seen flip flops as foot wear!

oh yes – i live in flip-flops. bet i have 20 pair in all kinds of prints, and materials. wear them to work with skirts or pants. wear them to play with skirts or shorts. wear them to feed the critters with a nightgown i hope no one sees.

Welcome to North America. Flip flops are the fashion, something that began last summer. Even in Canada. So one is subjected to incessant slapping noises everywhere one goes. Haha!

Will they be objects similar to those found in France, antiques that are uniquely American, or things that bring back happy memories of when you lived in that state? Have a great time with your dad! He must be in heaven with his own little girl and two grandchildren staying with him.

Yes, I think everyone does wear flip flops, and they come in such pretty colors and sparkles. I’d live in the silly things if I could. I hope your weather in Willows is better than ours is closer to the coast. We even had a little drizzle yesterday.

And YES. Everyone wears flip-flops.This is Northern Cali, baby! It is a beautiful thing. You could wear them with a nice dress, even. I highly recommend the ones from GAP. They have a little elastic in them, and are very cozy.

HOW TO SURVIVE IN FLIP FLOPS*
1. purchase chenille yarn that coordinates with your flops
2. wrap it around the toe separator as many times as needed for comfort.
3. Get a wonderful pedicure with some sassy summer color that does not require wearing sun glasses to look at =)
4. Enjoy your sparkling toes and the freeness of the air cooling your feet!
I own one pair of Black 2 inch flip flops with a neat beaded fringe. I just cannot take myself too seriously with all the snapping that occurs beneath my feet as I walk =)

Welcome to California! We are, I am told, our own little planet- so unlike anywhere else. Yes we have a dress code, comfy. There is a rule that the sun must shine this time of year, so enjoy! Please dip your toes and other body parts in our section of Big Blue (pacific) and add a shade or two to your skin tone. Drink a smoothie and enjoy some good Mexican food. Grab some over sized sun glasses and you’ll fit right in.
p.s. speaking occasional French will only endear you to most of the folks here, so do what comes natural. If you speak French the entire time you are here, well, we’re used to that sort of thing too!

oh my Corey – I miss you already & you don’t even live in the same country as I. I don’t like change at all – however you make sure you have the best time with your family, you are missing your french husband, I am sure. We have flip-flops here but we call them thongs. yes, that’s right, thongs. and we only wear them in summer time. way too cold here at the moment.

I hope your vacation is going well…I love this post and the one with the keys as well…I have moved around a lot and new sets of keys and new mailboxes have been a small joy each and every time I change residence. I can’t explain why, but I love those two things…those are among my favorite things about moving…Thanks for the posts and photos (which made me smile, immediately!)
