While waiting for dinner, Yann tells a story to entertain the little nieces and nephews. He has them by the first word, his accent doesn’t distract them, instead they are hypnotized by his tale:
Wide-eyed-wonder, May-May is no longer in this world, she is gone on the make believe carpet ride and seeing something far beyond here and now. Yann holds her imagination and spins away.
Don’t you just love a child innocence, the open mind of acceptance, a child who trusts without a skeptic adult mind. The storyteller holds his audience and gives them a glorious tale where when I asked, "Who would like some candy?" Nobody jumped up…instead their mouths watered only for the storyteller’s next sentence!
As if in a trance, they listened and listened to the story of, "Zooglu and Zooglet," showing varied emotions and never asking, "When are we going to eat?" Yann was weaving fast and they goobled every morsel of his tale!
Molly at three is quick to the catch, she recently told Sacha, "You’re not invited to my birthday party, but you can send a present to me anyway." She is a whipper snapper with vocabulary and like most little children she doesn’t miss a trick. Yann’s humor doesn’t escape her.
If you need a storyteller before or after dinner, don’t hesitate to call Yann, airfare is a small price to pay if you have 13 children to entertain!
