In a blue box trimmed with paper lace,
a white ribbon, and a black rose, still and silent.
The white ribbon put her arm around the black rose;
without a word, the act of tenderness was understood.

What a beautiful way to see this scene. Now I could see it no other way. 🙂
sometimes the smallest of gestures…
lovely words for a monday morning…(here!)
The white ribbon around the black rose makes a pretty picture 🙂
Your skill in creating such beauty in photos and pros amazes me! Thank you Corey for your gift to us each day!
What a beautiful photo, the way you lay everything out in preparation for a story. I bought some ribbon embroidery books recently and the idea of ribbons putting their arm round each other is a great gesture of friendship.
Ohhhhhh – you tempt me so dear Corey! Kindness indeed – treasures with a history and now a new lease on life… I wish I were there! Let’s try to connect on Wednesday…
beautiful!
Gorgeous photos again and again dear Corey, they all stir my imagination!
YOur entries always bring such peace to me:-D Thank you for that on a hectic Monday morning at school!
Just like a friend placing an arm of support and comfort around your shoulder, just the right touch.
Oh how lovely –
I also wore a silk
armband to my first
communion –
my mother had worn it
also:)
so sweet.
yes, it looks like it wants to hug it to it’s chest…
well.. like a script writer.. here you made it again..
beautiful idea.. a ribbon embracing anything.. I love that..enjoy your week..
Hi Corey.
So simple and magnifcent.
Pretty little treasures. Beautiful sentiment too. Hopefully my ribbons and baubles enjoy eachotheres company too.
I never would have seen it. But now I can even see the hesitancy in the black rose trusting the embrace…friendship takes time but that first outstretched act of kindness lays a beautiful foundation. thank you again Corey, Nel.
Personification makes this picture more a story than a photo, both of which speak volumes…
wonderful way to start the week; lovely!

As soon as I saw this picture, I thought about English girls before their wedding… they had to have:
“something old,
something new,
something borrowed,
something blue”
not sure about the order, though…
Corey, are your little “bundles of memories” sold in old boxes? and do you keep them in their boxes? or how do you “store” them?
MN
Wow, this is worth writing a poem about, thanks for sharing and I love the simplicity of this pic
