Small Details

The small details of how we live our lives measure large. Isn’t it true that you can getting a feeling about a person in how they shake your hand, or look into your eye? Wouldn’t you agree that generosity of spirit can be seen in how someone smiles?

It is in such small details that speak of who we are.

photo: Little bits of scraps I found in the bottom of a box. I bundled them together enjoying the moment.

My Amazon: Little details speak the answers.

  1. Yes people that give me limp hand shakes and don’t look me in the eyes or don’t seem all that interested in anything other than themselves, well they make very small packages in life and in my opinion.
I like real genuine caring and loving people the only kind I associate with!
Too many false pretenses in this world already I don’t need fake people too.

  5. A smile that reaches the eyes, two hands grasping one of yours = sincerity.
To look you in the eye when telling you something… small things that speak volumes.
Thank you as always Corey for reminding us of what should be obvious

  6. It seems to me that it is the ‘small’ things that actually make up the quilt that is our lives. When wandering through my memories it is those small moments that come back to me, sometimes with pleasure, sometimes with sadness but always so vividly. Its a big responsibility to make the small details in our lives shine!

I would absolutely agree that you can get a feel for someone shaking their hand, looking in their eye, or – if you keep you soul open & aware – you can sense so much more about them just being in their presence. And if you can sense that, and meet someone where they’re at, interesting and powerful connections can be made.
Absolutely beautiful photo, I love putting the smallest bits in focus and recognising their worth, beauty and inticrateness.
    much peace, JP

I am going through “the hidden places” in our house right now in search of materials to craft Christmas presents. Your lace would be perfect for a couple of angels 🙂

  19. body language.. was important in our generation .. and reliable..
but now..with so many ”body language coaches” analysing best approaches to people and teaching everyone..
now there are plenty of well hand shaking.. looking sweetly in your eyes..and smiling brightly” fake good persons..( jerks in my son’s terminology).. be aware.. =))

  20. Corey, I love your optimistic outlook.

  21. Thanks for your message in my blog 🙂
I really love what I’m seeing here.
You’re right: details make the difference and you’re so able to take the essence of things you meet.
Photos are beautiful… It’s a pleasure to read this blog: the architecture, the colors, the material of the old books,…there is an athmosphere here which is so pleasant…
    Thanks!
    Continue like that 🙂
    Valerie
    PS: Sorry for my english…

  22. thanks

  23. I base my impression of someone based on their body language.
Sometimes I get a good impression right away, but other times, it takes a bit of time to collect enough language to build my impression.

  24. is the little things that matter in the end, don’t they?

  25. God is in the details.
And my eyes are soaking up the paper labels in your photo.
    xoxo
