Pretty is a Pink Trunk

What is in the trunk of my car?

(No, this is not my car! But it is nicer than my own. I’d love to have a pink car like this. Fancy cars have never been my thing. I go for peeling, broken, faded, rusty old things. Come to think of it most of these words do describes my car! If only it were pink! Isn’t there some kinda thing in America where you gain points by selling stuff, and then you trade the points in *for a pink car? Maybe I could sell the stuff from the trunk of my car, and buy a pink car!)

Frenchhusband is also curious about the contents in the trunk of my car. Honestly, I told him, there’s nothing really important just more of the same old thing. He gave me that, "sure I bet look!"

photos: Of the things in the trunk. Sorry, no armoire, no "body" either!

*Thank you Marie-Noelle for the fun loving link!!

  1. Groceries are in the back of the SUV I drive…………
but my two teddy bears sit next to me up front and a shrine for my darling Mom up front on the counsel and many rosaries and my Mother Mary holy communion medallion hang from the mirror.
Music always playing and me singing wildly and sometimes dancing too.

    Embrace your bliss!

    Dear French husband.
If you read Corey’s line right – all you have to do is buy her an inexpensive pink Renault and the angel lips, though tattered (?) and one year from vintage, will be yours for ever and ever (though I guess they already are……. even without the pink Renault)

  3. sometimes I hide things in the trunk and then forget they are there!

  4. I’m starting to think that all husbands are related. Mine gets so suspicious when I go shopping by myself. I wonder why that is.

  5. If that were the trunk of my car (not that I can drive. Gasp!) I’d fill it with library books to be returned, and a spare tire so I could go on many a long adventure.
    take care, g

  6. You found some wonderful lace… do show more!!

  7. Does French Husband curse the flea markets?
    You’re so funny.

  8. Oh boy, I LOVE this pink car. I’m like you — I like ‘strange’ ‘quirky’ cars. There are so many cookie cutter cars here in the US (all in beige or silver) that its totally boring. The other day I went into a parking lot to retrieve my car, walked up to it, tried to open it while a man was sitting in the driver’s seat smiling at me — yes I was trying to get into the wrong car. That would NEVER happen if my car had been bright pink!!

  9. Gypsy Purple-Chamara

I`m totaly drooling over that lace!!!!
I also go for the torn, broken, faded, rusty old things….and by the way like the ride
    Chamara

  10. the only thing in my trunk is a black and white polka dot stroller for the daughter…..it does have a cute lime green lining on the hood part!
Such fun purchases….will you decorate with these “new” things?

  11. shabbyinthecity

    Oooooo! Ahhhhhh!
Little views to keep us intrigued…Volonté nous voyons tous demain?

  12. Pat Spiller

Corey, you have a talent for the small details. Who but you manages such fine focus on the bits that might go unnoticed. Always, your posts set me to thinking…….and wondering…….

Corey I have a very ~BIG~ trunk in my car so you can pass a few of those over to me!
I have my magnifying glass at the screen as these photos
    don’t enlarge!have a great day!

    Had I known, I would have kept my “4L” (Renault 4)for you…
It was my very first car – pale blue though … It toured England and Scotland with me…
Bet you would have found some pink paint, in an old bucket forgotten somewhere at a “brocante”… or out of a boot sale !!!

  15. Yep, Mary Kay products. I think it’s a pink
Cadillac. Let’s see, secrets of the heart? dreams, yet to be fulfilled? Or, just pieces and parts that make up Corey?

  16. Pink is my favorite color, but no pink cars and no pink houses for me. Don’t know why, they just don’t seem quite right to me.
Can’t wait to see more of the treasures from your trunk.
(and how cute is Jeanne, singing lyrics to you in a comment!)

  17. teresa (maggiegracecreates)

My first vehicle was a pink datsun pickup truck. (I really need to blog about that) Right now I drive a full size extended cab truck and I add big totes to the back for my finds. Love the finds you show us every day.

  18. When I was little, I dreamed of selling Mary Kay so I could have a pink car. Then I saw that they were a pale rather insipid pink and my dreams of cosmetics supersales went down the drain! I really wanted a spunkier pink like the one above…sigh.

  19. Lisa Oceandreamer

When I opened your blog I immediately thought -“wow, look at THAT, Corey as an amazing PINK car!! Then I read on…we’ll just pretend it’s really yours. lol! Looks as though you had some more lovely treasures in there…had there actually been an armoire it sure would have said something about the size of a French trunk….either that or it was like Mary Poppins bag.heehee.
Thank you for your lovely words on my blog last night!
    XOXO
    Love,
    Lisa

  20. Oooohhh! I see some intriguing items…yes..I do! You are too cut e with your pink car! I thought it was yours too when I first saw it! Hey..you can paint yours pink!

  21. Paris Parfait

Looks like you made some great finds. I collect old lace. Last time I was in Savannah, I spent an hour combing through two huge baskets of it at a mercantile. It was expensive, but too beautiful to resist.

  22. A Barney car! How CUTE!

  23. Regina Clare Jane

That car is so you, Corey! Just have Frenchusband paint yours!
I have no trunk in my car- it’s a van… no place to hide things.

  24. kim (via Pearl)

I was going to suggest that you start selling Mary Kay cosemtics but I see that others have beat me to the punch.
But — here’s another business proposition… do you think you could learn how to paint cars and then you could open your own used car lot where you paint vintage cars pink?
    I’m just saying’

  25. cruststation

    ‘a pink car…’ HINT HINT! 🙂

  26. Oh, I want to see the whole face that goes with that beautiful mouth and, also, to paw through the lace!

  27. I can see you at the wheel of that car, Corey! You go, girl.

  28. Wonderful! Actually I once had a boyfriend who had a pink car, a Renault. Are pink cars a French thing?

  29. Di Overton

I wish that pink car had been in the trunk of you car. Then when I eventually visit your area we could go to the flea markets together in that pink car. Do you know who owns it? Is it Gypsy Purple?

  30. That is a doozy of a color for a car. Very bright. And with adequate trunk space I see. Very bright. Did I mention that?! 🙂

  31. herhimnbryn

My first car was one of these. it was bright yellow and christened ‘Custard’. You have brought back some good memories dear C. Thankyou.
ps you could always buy some spray paint for your car!

  32. Thank you for the comment. I’m excited to look through your site. I am just wishing I had a car at all right about now :). What great things you have in there.

  33. I tell my husband about my purchases on a need to know basis, and quite honestly…does he need to know..? Do any of them….why upset them needlessly. Mine has been known to sort through vintage textiles for me in markets etc, and has an eye for the good stuff…there is always a way…LOL

  34. I want this car!

  35. awesome color!

  36. I wanna look inside your car’s trunk, too!

  37. I wonder if there is a “pink car wine”? There should be! Love this car.

  38. Is it possible you could paint your car pink? Can’t wait to find out the surprise!

  39. tiffini elektra x

That pink car is vividly fabulous! Those glimpses into your trunk. . yowzer! That lace and that painting. . .sigh!

  40. The trunk of someone’s car is a very private area. For me it is like looking through my purse…
Love that color car. It makes a statement.
    Hugs,
    Connie

  41. Our car was really nice when we got it but by trying to make our way through those tiny village streets we thought we could make our way though, he scraped one side and I scraped the other. Our car is in pretty sad shape now, and it’s not pink either.

  42. Corey in a pink car…sounds perfect! Love the finds. Nel

  43. Anonymouse

I’m sick of this PINK trunk
    Full of junk…
I’d like to see a Mercedes Benz,
    In my lens…
    I’d like to plunk
    A hunk
    In my Benz’ trunk…
    Maybe a friend’s hunk..?
Even if it was just a calendar…
    Corey responds:
Naughty Mouse!! I am going to have to put a hunk of Pink Paris cheese out for you!!

  44. as we say on this side of the ATLANTIC ” qu’importe le flacon pourvu qu’on ai l’ivresse !”
