The Eiffel Tower

Eiffel_tower_key_rings

Key rings to Paris. A dime a dozen for those of you who asked for the Eiffel tower!

Eiffel_tower_woman

Paris is more than the Eiffel tower, and France is more than Paris. Though I love the Eiffel tower, Paris and France. Belinda, I could sit here all day long and the evening too.

Nancy said, "If you happen to be by the Eiffel Tower, perhaps a shot of the little lake beneath it. Feller and I had the BEST, most romantic picnic at twilight there. We watched the tower begin to twinkle with its millions of lights and the sun setting…it was bliss (they were on their honeymoon I might add!) It is one of the prettiest places in Paris to me…just serene and beautiful and restful with all the trees and flowers. LOVE the willows!"

Eiffel_tower_man

Thank you for being with me in Paris, I kept seeing it through your eyes! The Eiffel tower thanks you for asking, Lorene, Lauren, Lynda and Anastasia.

Chelsea, If you stand right under the Eiffel tower and look up this is what you see.

Jules_verne_restauant

The Jules Verne Restaurant is on the second floor of the Eiffel tower. It sits like a diamond in the sky! Jeanne, from here you could wave to your children.

Charlotte, romance breeds in Paris…..I saw many couples kissing, though I did not have the heart to steal a picture of their intimacy.

  13. Lovely pictures, Corey! I love the one with the sun coming through.
In 1992, from the second level, I think, of the Eiffel Tower, I turned the coin-operated binoculars towards the buildings across the way, and looked in someone’s window (accidentally; I didn’t become voyeuristic until recently).
That must happen a lot, because, in front of the drawn curtains, a friendly skeleton sat in the window, looking back at me.
    Corey responds:
That is a good trick! I bet you had a good laugh!

  14. These are just breathtaking, Corey. I had no idea there was a pond under ET. It makes me want to go and have a romantic picnic like Nancy and her Feller.

  38. Marie-Noëlle

A great homage to Monsieur Gustave Eiffel, Corey !
A long list of French artists and writers held a controversy on “his” tower in 1887 and signed a petition to stop the project of that “useless and monstrous” monument.
Here is a part of the text:
« Nous venons, écrivains, peintres, sculpteurs, architectes, amateurs passionnés de la beauté jusqu’ici intacte de Paris, protester de toutes nos forces, de toute notre indignation, …, contre l’érection, en plein cœur de notre capitale, de l’inutile et monstrueuse tour Eiffel… »
And the so-called “useless monster” has become the N°1 visited monument and the symbol of Paris and our country…
Your great shots of the Iron Lady prove how art can be seen in and through the Tower!
    WELL DONE !!!
You said a star was born, I shall add: “an artist is confirmed” !!!

  39. very beautiful!!! enchanting views…romance is in the air!

  40. Isn’t she lovely?
And the Eiffel tower ain’t bad either!
    Corey YOU are lovely.
