The Gift of Gentleness

Antiqueangelmedallion

Actions speak louder than words…

being by someone’s side,

as they untie the knots that have gathered,

can be what is needed most.

Like a gentle hand on a shoulder.

  4. I’d love to be the hand of gentleness – but I think I am more like the claw of someone who tries too hard to help.
I love those kind of people who just sit and “be” with you through the rough times – I like their stillness, it’s a comforting presence.

  7. To listen;not speak.
To understand and show that we understand, by a touch, a smile or a look.
Comfort that comes from the spirit, this says so much.

  8. Yes, sometimes love can be expressed just by standing gently by anothers side. Thank you for the reminder! Well put.

  11. Regarding gentleness, one of my favorite quotations is this:
It was the love of love,
the love that swallows up all else,
    a grateful love,
a love of nature, of people,
    of animals,
    a love engendering
    gentleness and goodness
    that moved me
and that I saw in you.”
    William Carlos Williams

  21. “untying the knot that have gathered” I don’t think I’ve ever heard a less judgmental way of characterizing the difficulties we sometimes find ourselves in, whether self-made or otherwise. You have a gentle soul, Corey, and I hope that by reading your words and thoughts that gentleness will seep into me as well.
