I never know what to wear when I go out. It is the last thing I think of. Though having a little black dress or as I like to call it, "a black safety net," is my answer to most situations. The trick is to add a touch of color, a small and yet strong splash.
The building where the party was at, is called, "Hotel Dieu," it is a god of a building too. It was a hospital in the beginning. Then, it was leased for a hundred years to the city of Marseille. Before the lease expired it stood empty waiting. It is chalked up to be transformed into a luxury hotel.
Presently she stands in simple glory with a touch of pink.
After being found by French Husband I ventured out from behind the over sized planter. I think this little black dress does look like a safety net. At least my cheapo granola pink silk 6 euro sweater came in handy. Lesson number one: Peeking out from behind an over size planter, does not make the peeker look smaller, especially when the peeker is wearing a safety net.
Inside the Hotel Dieu candlelight glowed, casting a spell of romance.
Before the party, tables and chairs waited and whispered to one another, under the arcade.
French-ness.
Ping Pong at the party. Imagine crawling underneath for the ball. I did.
Large long garlands were placed between the light post.
Juliette, with the perfect little black dress.
Romeo.
I asked him if I could touch his hair. He laughed and asked if I had been drinking. I said he should know. I love to flirt.
Simple elegance. A perfect canvas to paint dreams.
Two buttons unbutton below the collar.
Twilight and two thousand party goers. Upstairs, down stairs and in the stairwells.
Lemons to add a teasing twist. A mix of modern added to the old.
Oh faded grandeur how it makes my heart sing!
All night long.
