Quiche Lorraine

She had a secret… she had counted her eggs before they had hatched and she was not disappointed.

As her sister sat there watching the chickens, she knew she wanted a secret too!

Photo: Rare French antique santon, part of the Provencal nativity scene.

Note: Due to pounding headache, I will post the creative winner to "The Secret" tomorrow. The responses are as usual, very clever and witty. Thank you for your thoughts I will have a hard time whipping up a story with all those brilliant guesses. (You can still add a guess, and give me more eggs to scramble into a hearty mix.)

The santon is divine. I know I will be back in Provence some day if only to search for antique, and new, santons for my creche.

When we count the chickens before they hatch and we are not disappointed, it is always reason to smile.

  8. Hope you’re feeling better by now. I recently read on a blog an intriguing headache remedy: placing banana peel over your forehead…! I haven’t tried it yet, as the last time I had a headache we were out of bananas.

This is so beautiful, but not as beautiful as the postcard….who took that amazing photograph? And who has handled it with such grace and love all these years that it is still so beautiful? I love it. Framed perfectly.

You KNOW I feel your pain. Have Yann massage your head k? It doesn’t make it go away–but helps endure it, that’s for sure.
