Amelia, in Aix en Provence

                 Amelia by place d Albertas

When you live far away from your family and friends eventually they will come to visit you. My dear friend Erika did just that, and she brought along her six year old daughter Amelia, my youngest guest so far. Amelia, "A-Million" as I called her, was a trooper as she followed Erika and I around Aix en Provence (pronounced, "X.") I was amazed by her stamina, I think those pink boots she had on, did the trick to keeping up with us.

Or maybe it was the ipod? I asked her what she was listening to and she rattled off a list of artists…I only recognized Raffi. I love Raffi.

Amelia didn’t miss a beat.

Cezanne would have loved to have had such a model in front of his cherished St. Victorie. I know I did. A-Million fly back soon, I miss you already!

BEST part of living far away, I always thought when I lived in Europe. Your loved ones come visit, and they spend the night for one or two whole weeks! What a darling girl, and how happy I am for you that you had such a sweet visit with your friend.

  26. Thanks for your tribute to this nice town, in which I am lucky to work… I even lived in the town centre for 4,5 years, but I am happy to have moved a few kms further in the country…

  27. A modern IPOD but a traditional skirt – what a sweet girl – and quite the fashion plate. Thanks for sharing such lovely photos of the French countryside and your story of fun friends visiting.

  28. Amelia, A-Million……..love it! Do you know Robert Munsch? He is the other Canadian kiddie icon (Raffi is the other). He writes the best children’s books, and you pictures and name for Amelia in Aix would be a lovely Munschie kind of story…
6 year olds are full of life and wonder.

  29. Oh Corey, Amelia’s leap into her mother’s arms is exquisite.
