Water and Seeds

                Coreyamaro_2

Amongst the flowers that fade

there is a spirit that does not grow pale,

reborn season after season,

tangible and fragrant.

Reminding us that life is more than the few petals and thorns we hold in our hands.

That which we cultivate in our souls does not die.

Water your life with open veins.

Corey, I’m going to jot this down and tuck it in my vanity (along with other small tidbits about precious life) to remember, remember, remember… whatever my mood may be that day.

Corey, you continue to amaze and inspire me, with your words that stir the soul and light up the heart – even as you’re struggling to deal with so much, you are watering the souls of so many others, people you may never even meet. Thank you for your words, for being you. And I am so glad that your dad continues to hold his own, wishing him well. Continuing to keep him – and you – in my thoughts and prayers~XOX

  9. Stunning image and the most beautiful words. Perhaps a little sweet book of your poetry with photos should be next – with a soft, French grey, pebbled leather cover and a silk ribbon to mark a special page.
I hope this weekend brings more healing for your dear Father. I know that time is at a standstill for you at this point – happy days need to return to lift your spirits. Are Yann and the children still with you to hold you close?
    Sending love and prayers daily.
    Fondly ~ Mary.

What a splendid gift to be able to put plain old words together in such a way that they penetrate straight to the core.
I second the idea of a book of your poetry (accompanied by your pictures.) I would surely need one!

  18. A Fanciful Twist

    Corey,
I think about you all of the time. As I was reading about the day in and day out at the hospital, it reminded me of days I spent with a love (my first true love). We were 20 years old. Ou vt of the blue in a very tragic manner, we found out he had aggresive cancer. He had to have two very traumatic surgeries. We spent months in the hospital.
I had found a place to sit and hide in his wing of the hospital. Watching the ins and outs of the hospital, I refelcted, and somehow, I myself changed from deep within to way outside…
There are so many worlds, so many ins and outs of life, so many millions of little worlds happening right inside our great big world. I send you so much love, and compassion. Vanessa

  19. I am opening myself to this moment. I can hear the melting snow drip; I can see my love’s face soft & true as he sits next to me; I feel my spiritual veins rushing with life and expectation and joy. I am digging deeper and welcoming a spiritual awakening. This journey with you Corey is exhilarating!

  20. Corey, a book from you would be a gift to the world.

  24. Lovely words. Thank-you for sharing, the photo makes me want to dry some flowers, or press them between some book pages. *DING DING* Oh good golly, I just remembered I have ferns pressed between some phone book pages…..when did I press them? Only about 5 or so years ago….haha thanks for the poem and for the mental reminder, albeit indirectly. hahaha

  25. Ooooh…this is a beautiful image, Corey.
