Lemon Pasta

Lemons_2 When life throws you a lemon catch it.

In a saute pan swirl chopped garlic and walnuts. Which will give them a chance to share perfumed notes with one another.

When the two are golden brown let a river of cream flow over them. Though before the cream should start to boil add the juice of the lemon that you caught- nice and steady as not to curdle the cream and spoil the fun.

As the cream thickens toss in spoonfuls of freshly grated Parmesan and a half of a spoon of grated lemon rind.

Serve it over hot al dente pasta and have a loaf of crusty bread to soak up every ounce of the lemon walnut sauce.

Exact measurements are not my style, thought I figure if the ingredients are fresh it seldom matters.

  1. Mmmm, I’m on my way for some lemon walnut pasta 🙂
Smiles and hugs from your corner of France,

  2. Oh yum, craving lemon sauced pasta now….and dang we already ate! Hey it’s funny but life never throws me lemons…I think it’s because life knows I really like lemons so what would be the point? It has thrown me the occasional kiwi (which I’m allergic to) and slithery snake (which I detest) But I just can’t bring myself to make a nice pasta of life thrown kiwis and snakes…..

  3. Our Meyer lemon tree is putting out lemons in full force at the moment. This recipe is going to come in very handy!

  6. Ahh, you cook like I do– by concept and not by precision.
This recipe sounds delish to me, but alas, I’m married to a man who does not prefer lemons. So, I’ll just make it for myself. He’ll never know what he is missing!!

Wow, and all this time I’ve been catching life’s lemons and just been making lemonade and it could have been gourmet pasta sauce!

  10. Mmmmmm…this sounds so good! Btw, the photo currently showing in your Colors of Provence photo album, the one with the signs and the wild flowers, is my favourite photograph of yours. I just love it!

  11. It is 7:30AM and I want to make this dish right now! Are their walnut farms near your parents place? I’ll always remember a family car vacation to California. Parents took an extra empty suitcase and loaded up on whole California walnuts. Good thing we didn’t know about Gilroy and the garlic places there or parents would have taken another empty suitcase!

  12. It’s far to early to be thinking about anything other than cereal, but this recipe sounds delicious. I even have a few lemons left over from making limoncello that are waiting for something delicious.

  13. I meant to write a comment about those bright lemons enlightening your (rainy) day …
through their colour and their original area… etc… WHEN I happened to focus on the ardoise !?! …
“8 lemons for 1euro50” !!! … I could NOT believe my eyes… I put my face closer to the screen… I clicked on the picture and WATCHED.
I paused in awe… I became YELLOW with envy… as here we get 2 for that price – or maybe 3, at the most!
Those lemons have kept teasing me since; and made me forget everything else.

  14. this sounds wonderful! I bet the kids would even like it.

In the midst of all you are
    going through being home, saying
goodbye to your husband and children,
staying with your Mom, being by
your Dad’s bedside ~~ we get a recipe!
I just wrote this quote from The Supper of
the Lamb in a note to a friend ( with a pen
of course). Maybe it will encourage you
    in the Lord:
“It’s eternal purpose ( food) is to furnish
our sensibilities against the day when we
shall sit down at the heavenly banquet and
see how gracious the Lord is.”
    Praying for His grace to
    abound around you, in you,
    above you, below you and
for your father! ( St. Patrick’s Blessing)

  22. It does sounds (and bet it sure tastes) delicious!!!

  23. Mari-Nanci

    Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
But I see more in your first line, than just a prelude to a recipe. “When life throws you a lemon, catch it.”
Most of us don’t even want to “make lemonade,” when life throws lemons at us. We just want the lemon to go away, and fast.
You are in the midst of a lemon storm.
But you say… catch it. Make a delicious pasta dish. And keep going.
Yes, I see much in this entry…
    Many hugs,
    Mari-Nanci

  24. Sounds delisious Corey!!
I will have to try it.

Thanks for the lovely lemon pasta recipe. Frank is down with a wicked chest cold maybe I’ll make it but heavy on the garlic and lemon and light on the cream and cheese. There are a bunch of new updates on the cassilhaus blog. Later, E

  27. Well, that just got cut & pasted into my ‘must try’ recipes file! Thank you!

  31. I LOVE LEMONS LIKE I LOVE MY AUNT

  32. My Mum once told me that she craved lemons when pregnant with me – she would cut them in half and suck on them despite their acid bite! I LOVE anything lemon – is this why? Now I have a new sauce to try – tomorrow I will buy a bag of lemons, I have the other ingredients – yum, I can taste it already!
Hope your loves are home safely – hope you are OK.

  33. That dish sounds just wonderful. A must try since lemons, pepper and pasta are some of my favorite things.
Blessings to you and yours as always.

Lemon Pasta – perfect for your mood right now, and a great addition for me for “My Third Week of Lent is Yellow” (though that was last week.
This week is green, the colour of hope.
I continue to pray for you.
My father is out of hospital, doing very fine, my mother, who will be 78 next week, is having some health problems though……please keep her in your prayers.

  37. Oh dear, now I have to go make this!
P.S. We might be coming to Provence this summer! Yay!
