Any steps are worth measuring, I agree. May there be a spring in your step, Corey. Thinking about you.

WOW! What a beautiful photo — so much texture and history wrapped up in that pair of shoes.

He who would have beautiful roses in his garden,
must have beautiful roses in his heart.
He must love them well and always.
He must have not only the glowing admiration,
    the enthusiasm, and the passion,
    but the tenderness, the thoughtfulness,
the reverence and the watchfulness of LOVE
This is you ….My beautiful Friend

  14. each morning is a brand new day… and we walk through it one step at a time…God knows what will be at the end of the day.. and we just need to call upon Him to see us through… He is holding your dad in His arms…

Just take the first step…the rest will follow.

  20. Corey, you will put one foot in front of the other . . .

  21. Baby steps, I always try to remember baby steps. The house will not be tidied in one fell swoop, the problems of the world don’t disappear with a sweep of my arm, haha. Even supper usually starts with the chopping of one onion, baby steps, it gives me hope when times are stressful, that this too can be conquered with a little step here, a little step there.
    Neat picture!

  26. Corey,
I’ve been away from your blog for a while and am saddened to hear of your fathers struggle. I’ll keep your dad, you, and your entire family in my prayers. My heart goes out to you.

  27. I’m praying that God is holding you and your family very close at this moment – I fear perhaps you need special thoughts sent your way today, Sunday.
In friendship – sending love – wishing you strength.

You are amazing at finding the beauty in everything, even in your time of sadness. I am thinking of you still. We just had a death in our extended family, I’m most sad for her younger children, Mothers shouldn’t die so young….49 yrs old…

The shoes are a great metaphor for life’s journey. My thoughts are with you and your family on your father’s journey. I know it gives him peace and contentment to have all of you near.

  35. in comment to your chairs post… I hope the light is warm and comforting and the solitude brings with it peace. Thoughts & prayers. Nel x

  37. oh corey:( the chair post leaves me feeling like your pa may have ‘gone home’ If so I’m sorry, I really am, such a loss is never ever easy, I know that feeling,in time you will feel better. Finding the ‘light in a room or in your heart will help and remember that your pa (if I’m reading into this right) has found it too:) I love you! & am praying for peace & light for all of your family.

  38. Christine

Like others, if your chair post means your father has passed on, I’m so deeply sorry. ((hugs))
The light is most welcomed even if it means those left in this dark world are missing the loved ones making the journey home.
