Becoming Little Again

                       DSCN0049

My five little nieces told me it was going to be a glamor day. I thought that meant that they would dress-up, put makeup on each other and then I would take pictures of them. Ha! That was the furthest thing from their minds.

They each brought their own bag of old, unwanted, or half used make up from their mother's toiletries. Proclaming me their victim lucky loved doll for the day. Then they asked me to sit and relax in their "beauty salon".

As they applied make up to every inch of my face and hands. I thought Botox certainly would have been easier…. Seriously look at how many hands are applying lipstick to my mouth!

I sat there for over an hour feeling like a well loved doll… or at least I think I did?

When is the last time you played dress up?

My stylists: Hairstylist Gina, Make up artist Marie, Lipstick goddesses Maci and Kate, Manicurists Molly and my Godson George.

ps we almost flew out of Marseille on the 25th, but now we’re leaving five days later…

  6. Your hands splayed on the table top look the teensiest bit desperate. I know it’s actually from nail varnish, but I like the effect.

  26. Wow, Corey! You couldn’t get such tender loving or great service, not to mention fun, at any spa on the planet!

  27. Ssssweeet!
It’s been years since that has happened to me. I always found it to be so relaxing though… then I would have to walk around like that for a few hours, so that I wouldn’t hurt my stylist/makeup artist feelings. I would just pray that no one would come ring the door bell.
    ๐Ÿ™‚
good fun for everyone… even Sacha.

Come on Corey…let’s see a picture of the finished product. I’m sure it would be fitting for the cover of Glamour magazine or maybe a walk down the red carpet at Cannes with Chelsea.

  30. Ha! how lucky to have such an attentive and pretty bevy of stylists.

  31. LOL! What fun! Bet you looked a beeeaaauuutiful painting afterwards! ๐Ÿ™‚ BTW, your hair looks great. Are you going blonde in the California sun?

  32. Corey,
Oh, to feel so pampered and so well loved! You have got to be the favorite auntie! Loved seeing all those ponytails and the blissful look on all the little faces as they doll you up! What a great sport! I envy your summer fun!

  33. Simply adordable! You are a good sport!

  34. georgie

We need a post makeover photo! This reminds me of a photo you took last summer of your Mom and the granddaughters on a dress up/party day. You have such a wonderful family.

  35. How completely and wonderfully divine! Look at their faces…it is pure bliss. This is what joy is made of. Say, don’t makeup artists do before and after shots? You can tell how much YOU are loved and how much THEY are loved for sitting there an hour!
Playing is essential in all of us, we should all do it more often.
Thinking of you all the time!
    XOXOXO

  36. I can just imagine how totally BEAUTIFUL you must have looked after their care! What would life be without a bevy of fairy beauty consultants? Boring for sure… Thank you Sacha for showing us such love, and Thank you Corey for being you!!!

  37. You are the BEST auntie in the world After picture. AFTER pictures! LOL, Annie

  38. I though Maci was flossing your teeth.
Just be happy they haven’t discovered waxing. “Shall it be the bikini today or the Brazilian?”

  39. Oh Corey!
I just chuckled! That is too cute and you are such a good sport. I don’t know if I could have handled that. But it brought a huge smile to my face. Thanks! And I am sure this is very theraputic for you.

Dear Corey, You only THINK they were putting make-up on your face and polish on your nails. Really, they were applying their own special healing balm to your spirit in a way that only children can! How fun!

  45. Doesn’t it look like they’re having the time of their lives playing beauty shop?! I’m glad that you and your family are starting to regain moments of joy once again. Cheers!

  46. Oh Corey! You glamour doll, you! If only I had ten hands applying makeup to my face! (Is this in preparation for the arrival of Mr. Espresso?)
    hugs to you!

  47. BUt…but…but…surely someone took a picture of the finished beauty. What a bevy of little dolls.

  57. Thank you Sacha, for being so sneaky.

I get that often from my little Jacob who needs to see if I have any loose teeth.
