Summer Cut

                                    Long-hair

Sam my fifteen year old nephew asked me to cut his hair. He told me I could cut it however I wanted Don't you just love it when someone puts the reins in your hands? The best thing about cutting long hair is the possibilities it offers. Instantly my imagination started dreaming up hair-dos. I wanted to give him a French haircut, so I asked him if he ever used a blow dryer or gel on his hair? My nephew looked at me like I was from another planet. He told me that he didn't deal with his hair. A no fuss kinda guy. I took that to mean he didn't brush it. When he told me he wished for dreads locks I knew he wasn't kidding about the never dealing with it part.

So instead of a French-do I gave him a no fuss, all- American, baseball-cap, hair-do.

Who's next?

    I do need a hair cut…
    “no fuss” is ok.
    But I’m not too sure about “all-American” and “baseball-cap” … These won’t do, I’m afraid…
    What else?…

Jeff found a guy from Italy to cut his and the kids’ hair, so he gives the boys and Jeff a “European” cut.
It’s still a baseball cut as far as they’re concerned.

  3. Corey,
Mine is getting quite long, curly and unmanageable.

  8. Great looking haircut! What can’t you do? You have many talents.
Tomorrow my 14 year old daughter is having her long, thick, naturally curly hair off. Short… She says, “Her hair is not her identity”. I say that it is mine! Your nieces hair (from the makover pics) remind me of M when she was little. They have great hair. Wish you were closer, I would run over and let you have a go with it. So much hair….

  9. How sweet!

  10. Is there no end to your talents girl?

Yes I have to ask…you know me, one county over, but now up the hill ;o)..and I don’t know what a French-do is either. lol…grab another kid and lets see that hair-cut.

  14. My gosh, Corey! You stylist, you!!! I have two boys about the same age as your nephew, who both sport the same “before” look. Care to pop on over to Cape Cod to do a little more magic? We have a pilot in the family!!! =) heehee

  15. Wow, it looks great but you still need to explain – what’s a French haircut??

Corey-you have so many talents and seem so capable of doing many things well. Come over here, two standard poodles need grooming and I could use a new hairdo too!

  19. His hair cut looks great. I didn’t know you could do that! Is there anything you can’t do? LOL

  20. Corey,
Your talents never cease to amaze me, the cut looks great! How fun that even the boys get in on the glam act!

  21. Line ’em up, Corey. Looks like a homerun to me.

  22. Oh my goodness, is there anything that you can’t do, Corey? I love the cut; I hope Sam does too.
I have to say I’m a bit like he is with not wanting to deal with the hair. It’s naturally curly (or shall I say frizzy?) and I tend to just keep it long so I can pull it back in clips or a ponytail–to cut it short would be to ask for an out of control frizzfest.

  23. As someone who spent $60 + tip on my last haircut [I know,I know} I demand a place in line. I spread the time out between haircuts to months, and slink back to the salon looking like a ….well, like a 15 year old boy who doesn’t deal with his hair!

  24. OMG! She cuts hair too! Catching up with you….how wonderful your french family is coming to CA!
    enjoy!
