Sweet Surrender

The-Kiss The-kiss-le-louvre

                                     The-louvre-the-kiss

Sweet surrender. I didn’t know that I was holding on. I didn’t know. Until French Husband reached out and held me. Then I knew what I didn’t know before. That I was holding on and tired. Sweet surrender. Sweet slumber.

The kiss, the awakening, the knowing… and now the letting go, and being caught without knowing I was falling.

  1. Maybe your heart knew to wait and hold on until he was there to catch you. Maybe the fall would have been too far to go at alone.
So happy he is there for you now.

  5. So often we don’t understand until we relax how much tension there is inside us. But it is so important to rest and let go

Corey, what you’re expressing so clearly shows in your first and second picture that you posted of you and FH.
I’m so happy for you to be able to have someone to lean on and not have to be the strong one during every moment of every day.
I bet you had a good cry with FH, too.

  21. Wonderful post! As always…thanks for sharing your heart with us!

  22. Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us – I can live only wholly with you or not at all – Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits – Yes, unhappily it must be so – You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart – never – never – Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. And yet my life in V is now a wretched life – Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men – At my age I need a steady, quiet life – can that be so in our connection? My angel, I have just been told that the mailcoach goes every day – therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once – Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together – Be calm – love me – today – yesterday – what tearful longings for you – you – you – my life – my all – farewell. Oh continue to love me – never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.
    ever thine
    ever mine
    ever ours
I love this piece called Immortal Beloved
Carrie read it to Big in the Sex in the City movie………….
We are all born with a great need to be loved and never ever outgrow it.
    Love is all you need.
    Blessings~
I love those beautiful exquisite works of art.
    I love you

you show us the best of what marriage can be –

  25. It’s amazing how much we hold onto until we find the safety of someone who we know is strong enough to hold us and our emotions. I am so glad you are reunited with FH and can finally let go and rest. Bless you Corey.

  26. Good things always come to those who wait – but not always with such beauty as what you show here! Thanks for these – only the Louvre can really hit one smack between the eyes with such astounding sculpture – awesome.
So happy for you – in every way.
    Hugs for the weekend.

  30. How true. There are times when we are concentrating so hard on holding it all together for the sake of all others that we don’t even realize we are doing it until the opportunity comes to allow someone else to hold it for a moment. So glad you have your love there to be your soft place to fall.

Made me sigh too! That was so beauutiful Corey and I am so happy that FH is there with you. You’ve had to handle a lot of things and be very strong during the last few months. The sense of relief of having your beloved with you must be immense.

  40. You did well. Both of you.

It’s so true, Corey- we hold on so tightly to things, especially after the death of a loved one… we don’t want to lose anything or anyone ever again. I understand that completely…
