The New Banner

Wow, what a surprise! What awesome support.

Number two banner was the crowd pleaser by a land slide though the other banners had there fair share of applause. Your votes put a smile on my face.

Thanks for the idea about changing the banner more often and therefore using the other images. Susan scoured back through Tongue in Cheek and found another image for me to use (the red mailbox— I have more red on my blog than I ever imagined.)IMG_47shoe63

After the majority gave a thumbs up for number two banner I had the daunting task of trying to figure out how to put a banner up. The only other time I put a banner up was by a complete miracle or if you want to call it an accident that might be a simpler truth. Does that often happen to you? Where good things fall into place without your understanding why? It happens to me. I guess if you believe in something strongly it can come true against the odds. Of course this time I clicked on the miracle worker “Google” and found a blogger dishing out the best blog advice in a language I could understand.

Okay so I figured it out, and will change my banner more often now that I know how.. Who says an old dog cannot learn new tricks?

……………….and because your advise was so good I might have to ask you a few more .

Thanks again!

P.S. Chelsea and Mr. Espresso have been sick. I didn’t think you would want to see pictures of them worshiping the porcelain god!

Hopefully in a day or two they will be feeling & looking better.

    Oh oh…
Two young teenagers have been sick here too!
And so I have been busy boiling rice and preparing smashed quinces/bananas… and beating coca cola… (DIY treatment)
    Strawberries have been banned …

  3. Wow… your new banner looks great! Now I just have to figure out how to do it too, lol. I haven’t been able to sort that one for ages.
Hope Chelsea and Expresso Boy (love that name) feel better soon.

  4. Everything looks fabulous as always.

    I hope everyone feels better.

Didn’t have time to vote, but am thrilled with your choice and the result. Your wine is waiting for you in the cellar here in Burgundy for when you return to France !

  8. Dear Corey, back from our vacation in Portugal, I am now catching up with your posts from the last couple of weeks, and especially enjoyed your portuguese festas posts… Just left my country yesterday and already miss it terribly!! Most of our bonding is made at the table, with some of the best food in the world…!! Be sure to visit, I’ll be posting pictures through the week!

  14. Although I voted for Molly, I do love your new banner a lot.
And actually, since it shows the cheek of the male, it really is quite appropriate.
Well done! I have NO clue how to change my banner….I get somebody else to do it for me, so bravo to you. Going to check out that link you put here. Maybe that’ll help me.

  15. Hi Corey ~ love the new banner. Sometimes a girl just has to mix things up. I’ve done it quite a bit at my blog.
I like your choice too. So classic, so sexy. Ew, La La.

Hope they feel better soon. I hate being sick on vacation. Try feeding them some more Supas and sweet bread. Mr. Espresso needs to get as much as he can if he’s going to spend time around your family. You might also try some Malazadas. I know they always make me feel better….even when I’m not sick.

  17. Your poor kids, Corey! My #1 son has been doing the same thing! Let’s hope for speedy recoveries!
I was away for a couple of days and didn’t see the post about changing banners. When I first logged onto your site this morning and saw the new banner, I HONESTLY thought I was seeing French Husband! I stared for a bit, then realized it was a statue! See… you really did marry a French God! =)

  18. Hi there,

  20. I love how it turned out! I also like the red mailbox Susan found in your archive; that might be my second favorite.

How about a bannner photo of you wearing your famous red lipstick and blowing a kiss? Or one of Eva and Matthieu holding hands.
Poor Chelsea and Mr. Espresso-hope they feel better soon.

  22. Julie Ann

the profile looks like elvis ! Jx

  23. Looking good, my friend. Love the little antique red shoes.

  24. Classic with a twist of whimsy, perfect. Hang in there C & Mr E.

  25. New banner looks wonderful..I still think it looks like French Hubby. Do hope Chelsea and Mr. Expresso feel better very soon!
    love and blessings

  26. I like the banner choice!
The profile does remind me of the photos of your sweet pea French husband.
Now that you have the whole banner thing figured out…I know you will change the banner as often as you change….well, you know.

  27. BEAUTIFUL!! Great choice! I look forward to seeing the banner unfurl with a new look on a whim. Living life with a dash of whimsy makes everything so much more fun, don’t you think? I can read the joy in your “voice” now that your family is all together. EnJOY! : )

  28. Excellent choice! At first I though it was French Husband…….

  29. thebuck@mindspring.com

Reminds me of Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth
    Bennett when she visits Pemberly!
    Hope noone else gets sick!

  30. Oh darn I missed the vote, but I would of TOTALLY voted for the one you have up. I loved it and the red shoe one best.
    Hugs,

Call me a graphics geek but I loved the white space between the strawberry and his mouth from yesterday. It is the unknown space of “will the statue come to life to bite the delicious strawberry she hods out so temptingly?”
Could the text go down a little bit. Hugs, Ellen

Ah my dear dear Friend Ellen
You are right, I see what you mean! AND it will be good practice for me to try to change it. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that I can do it again…I think I can.
I liked your suggestion that you gave yesterday about using a lighter red in the text.
    Thank you mentor of detail

  32. Well done, Corey!
I hope Chelsea and Mr. Expresso are feeling much better by now!
The little paisley looking shoes are so adorable.

  33. I love your new banner! I really did think it was French husband when I first saw it 🙂
    warm regards,

  34. You have a marvelously interesting blog to read. I really like your photo at the top right side. That always captures me somehow. A woman being free. The true essence of beauty!

  35. I love the new banner! What a nice surprise to see a new one…I missed a few days reading your blog as I was still on the road in the middle of nowhere! Keep up the good work!

  36. Lisa-Vet

Hola Corey!!! #2 is my favorite, Love it. God Bless, Lisa-Vet.

  37. Corey, the minute I saw the statue’s face, I thought it was your French Husband….you had me fooled for a minute. It does have an incredible likeness of him…could this be why you couldn’t resist the statue? I love your new banner….it’s fantastic!

  38. Marie-Noëlle

Feeding the statue with strawberry OR feeding FH with cake and raspberry…

Some of your readers could find a hint there!
in the nose… or in the red fruit…

  39. Gail Marie

All of your photos are divine. Love them. I SWEAR that I thought I saw you & French Husband walking along towards the Gramercy Park Hotel in NYC tonight. You have doubles in Manhattan! All the best!

  40. Love the new banner!
