  1. how wonderful… the eiffel tower all lit up and shining bright for everyone to celebrate. Happy (belated) Bastille Day!

My family and I love fireworks on Bastille night. We try and vary places each year.
Last year we went to a nearby village castle – We watched the fireworks all lying and sitting in its park.
This time we went to a nearby town. The fireworks took place above the lake. Magical!
We keep saying “next year we shall go to Paris”… and we end up somewhere else…
(Some villages and towns have their fireworks the night before…
My daughter’s job is to find those out so that we can enjoy 2 fireworks !)

  3. Love and hugs and happy celebrating.

Never been on July 14th – yet another “to do” – thanks Corey. We leave for Provence on 31st of July – can’t wait ! By the way the scene with the little nieces the other day was so poignant – made me realise how far we think we have travelled and yet how little. God bless Jx

  5. A land so far away for me, but in my over-active imagination, I see the sparkles in the sky.

  7. The one time I was in Paris, we arrived afternoon before Bastille Day. That evening we went to Sacre Coeur and watched the fireworks over Paris. Whoa!
    That was 1974.

  8. Love the fireworks show.

  10. My gosh, what a thrill. I can only imagine what it must be like to actually be there.

  11. You know, I think I’ve remembered incorrectly. Back in 1974, we did, in fact, arrive the evening before Bastille Day, but the fireworks weren’t until the next night (Bastille night?). The night we arrived, though, the Metro was free. I knew there was something special about that night!

  12. Bastille Day. Paris. Our Honeymoon. It was wonderful
