Watering with Symbolic Gestures

                         IMG_8023

Honor your desire by planting a seed of it somewhere. Help it to take root by a small symbolic gesture, in a simple act, by writing our desire on a stone and tossing it in a river… by writing a word a day to yourself and putting it in a jar by your bedside…follow your heart by dancing at midnight under the moon… or give yourself permission to not be perfect… or draw an ink tattoo on yourself of the image of your desire… create a collage on your bathroom mirror…make vegetable monsters to conquer your fear…put love letters to yourself under your pillow…every-time you see that which you long for, say your name out loud. If you long for it to be true then plant your longing in your heart's garden and water it regularly with symbolic gesture.

And to you I send a gesture of hope for that would be symbolic.
Though these past months have been most difficult for you may you understand that the inner feelings you have shared have touched us all.
As you have learned to overcome your sorrow and feelings of desperation writing these words has helped you to heal be it ever so slowly.
And while you journey forth, back to France let it be known that I hope, as do others that you continue to share this life that we have been privileged to be a part of.
    Have a safe journey.
    xo Susan

Or as Tasha Tudor liked to quote Thoreau:
“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
Fly with safety tomorrow, Dear Corey…

p.s. In Michigan, we had a beautiful snow last New Years Eve,and I danced gleefully with the swirling snowflakes.

  22. Great advice, much food for thought, thanks. Have a safe journey as you return home.

  23. Corey, Your words are always magical and right on target for the sole. I’ve been keeping track of you over these last months. It was a journey that I traveled 33 years ago when I was 18. In 2 years time I met my husband, lost my mom, married, got pregant and lost my dad. Talk about living in a dream world. Even after 32 years of marriage and 5 kids,it’s still hard. There is not a day that I don’t think about or talk to my parents. Your words are always the right ones in some way, they aways make me think. Thank you for sharing this journey with us. May you have a safe trip home. Please keep me thinking, Rue

  24. Thank you once again, Corey, for your beautiful thoughts and photo.
You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow.
    Happy landings!!!

  26. I love your post.
I did the same twice last year, I wrote on the sand of the Atlantic and the Pacific ocean my desire but unfortunately it didn’t succeed yet. I am still looking forward..
Il y a quelques années j’ai fait la même chose et mon voeu c’est réalisé .J’ai regardé la vague emporter mon voeu avec elle dans la mer et je lui ai demandé de le manifester dans l’univers.

  27. I just love this image. It’s just so wonderful. Not sure why it speaks to me!
