Give this man an orange beret! And why doesn't he have on his Hawaiian shirt? My cousin Judy gives me that look… don't start that again! Little does she know I have just begun. Little does she know I have her signed up for belly dancing… she thinks we are going for a cooking class! I wonder if Chris will have the same expression when we go dancing?

  1. Simply beeeautiful! 🙂
After oranging through all those beautiful colors, I feel like getting behind the wheel of my car and driving right over!
I am trying to imagine how I would react if, instead of getting behind a hot stove, I’d do some belly dancing.

  2. Those apples look so crispy and delicious! Great “captured” shot of Chris and pretty cousin Judy…is that a bag of fresh baguette, I see cousin Judy clutching? YUMMERS…Can’t wait for the belly dancing! 🙂

  3. Cha Cha Cha! That portfolio of orange in your lovely area is book worthy. How about a Corey Rainbow book of your Provence?

  4. Gorgeous ! brightful ! Wonderful !!!!
Orange is my favorite color ….
I love the expression of Chris …

  5. Poor Chris won’t know wha hit him at belly dancuing class. lol I love all of your photos. If I never get to France, I will have at least been able to taste it through your beautiful images. But, I still want to go to France.
Have a wonderful time with your cousins.

  6. Absolutely wonderful.

Well you sure made up for the “imagined” pictures of Provence yesterday. Chris looks like those mushrooms may have been magic ones ! What do you call those orange flowers making up the wreath in the picture. I always call them Chinese Lanterns but would love to know the French name please ? Have fun today, Jx.

  8. OMG, that is funny! I hope you have your camera aimed at her when she finds out she’s not going to a cooking class!

  9. Love it! Can’t wait to see her reaction!

  10. I love the photo of the gently rolling landscape and the small shed. Your cousin is beautiful and her husband looks like he’s a lot of fun. Do the French know what to make of him?

Good ! They look very healthy ! And…quoi ? belly dancing ? that’s a good idea ,should be fun ! Can’t wait to see your pictures . This red-orange serie is absolutely wonderful !

  12. Let the fun (and dancing) begin!

  13. Corey… you’re healthly crazy. I hope you are aware of that, aren’t you!? ;o)
    Big hug*
P.S. – Oh, and now that you’ve mentioned it… you could be a nice girl and share some photos of the belly dancing! :o)

  14. Oh, they are going to have so much fun! And yeah, where’s the shirt?? Tell him we’re so disappointed. Although he looks nice in black, too. Very chic. ha!

  15. I LOVE that orange on the doors in the first photograph. There’s a stucco building in Pennsylvania that is that colour – beautiful! And look at those postcards! Is that what you see in your neighborhood every spring? And yes, where is your cousin’s beret and Hawaiian shirt? And bellydancing! YOU are fun cousin!

  16. THEY SURVIVED THE MUSHROOMS! What fun you will have showing them your beautiful country…..we can pretend through your pictures which are the next best thing! Does the belly dancing include costumes?

  17. belly dancing hahahaha..
it is better than cooking.. I can bet.. =D…
    most beautiful photos again..
    love from istanbul…

  18. Those photos are so enticing……love orange but didn’t like it so much until you brought it into my field of vision. Funny we see what we want to……………

  19. For the lack of photos yesterday, you are overflowing today. Made my day to look and be in Aix. I was there in college one summer,
a long time ago! Enjoy the visit. Enjoy the food. Enjoy the conversations over the table of French food. Bon Appetit in many ways!

  20. I love the expression of surprise on your cousin’s face! I’m sure you will be the author of many smiles during their holiday!

  21. Ode To ORANGE.
    Whether red-orange
    Or orange-yellow
    I love your ranges,
    And the Fallen leaf changes.
    Always depenably mellow,
    Including my orange velo!

  22. Why is that event the ordinary looks extraordinary when photographed in France? Sigh! I hope that perplexed look on your cousins face is not a side effect from eating questionable wild mushrooms. Corey, you are such a minx, belly dancing, what will you think of next?

  23. I cannot wait to see pics of these two belly-dancing!! Their expressions are just a sign of things to come, haha.

  24. Cute picture of the cousins!!
I love red!!!! The weathered red door, my favorite.
    Have fun belly dancing!

  25. The French call the Chinese Lantern plant Amour de Cage (Kristin Espinasse wrote about then at herr French Word a Day blog). Great photos Corey. Have fun belly dancing.

  26. So happy that you found your camera. The photos are wonderful! I love the red-orange!

  27. Hi Corey,
I have had a hard time getting to your blog. I finally was able to conncet to it today. Weird, I usually have no problem getting to your site. Oh well. Anyway I am enjoying your visit with Judy very much. What fun you must be having. Can’t wait to see what is next.

  28. My favorite picture is the one of the trees and I think lavender? I’m not an orange fan but do like the shades you have pics of. About that bellydancing, what a great surprise. I bet cousin’s eyes will be even larger when all those bellies start going round!! ha ha
    Kris

  29. Oh, my, such beauty! I’m sure that the larger cities are as busy and bustling as the cities here, but these photos reflect a much more relaxed atmosphere–one I’m sure I could get VERY used to 🙂

  30. Oh what a feast for the eyes!
Your post of your cousin and her husband cracked me up. I can’t wait to read about it!
    😀

  31. Angela Marie hit it on the nose – a feast for the eyes! This post is truly a feast. Wish I could be there to see all those things, but the pictures are definitely the next best thing.
In the picture between the strawberries and the apples, are those little boxes or books? I love the red one on top with the picture of the chateau. Is that Chambord?

  32. I still want to be your cousin! Can I?

  33. Oh my goodness…. Belly dancing! That is great! That is so something that I would secretly sign friends or family up for, just to see the impressions when they arrive!!! haha.. Thats great! Enjoy!

  34. I would be ok with an orange beret, but belly dancing would be a deal breaker for me! My belly seems to dance enough on its own these days. Maybe its trying to tell me it wants to dance?

  35. hee hee, that’s a great picture of your of your relatives…even without the Hawaiian shirt!

  36. OH how I wish I was in your cousin’s suitcase!
My heart and soul dwell in the south of France!

  37. Hi Corey – such fun chatting with you this evening! Glad the mushrooms were OK. We found another pizza restaurant, just off the Cours Mirabeau, where we could sit inside as it was pouring. The food was fabulous, the service great. I’ll give you their card tomorrow.
Bob and I will see y’all at the statue of Le Roi Rene – 12 noon. Looking forward to it.
    Hugs – Mary.

  38. It is my personal experience that when one can belly-dance, one’s man becomes insatiable!:) So watch out cousin Judy.

  39. Antique Mom says your blog is great. And if she says so, I believe her. I’ve already convinced myself. Luvva the antiques in any country. Great blog.

There, That gets you one closer to one million. To everyone else reading, please join the cause.(one million requests gets us a book to keep on the shelf for when the power goes out or while sitting on the beach during holiday.)

  42. A question off topic…whatever happened to eve and mathieu???????????????????????????? Did I miss something? update if you can:)

  43. Orange has become one of my favorite colors…I love the wreath on the door- the casual sophistication of it! What is it~ is it pomegranates strung together? So chic, so French, so much like the color of Fall…

  44. OHHHHH MYYYYYYY!
I drink in the colors and textures of your amazing country.
I hope you catch the look on her face when she finds out she is in belly dancing !!
    xo
