                     Blue shutters

Behind blue shutters on a pink wall….

                   Hideaway spots in france

Along a pathway in a secret hideaway in Provence….

                  Lavender

Mingled with a romantic scent….

                 South of france

Deep within the bosom of France….

I may be missing the point of this post entirely, but something stands out to me that differentiates the US from France in these pics.
In France the beauty of an aging crumbling walkway is something to be treasured. All the feet for the many many years that have walked there, perhaps mothers and children hand in hand, and lovers for sure. If those stairs could talk?
In the US it would be a “hazard” and a lawsuit waiting to happen. The patinated buildings and aging stairs would be past due for demoliton and would be torn down. Something NEW and MODERN would be constructed in it’s place. What a loss.
I know there are those here in the US who appreciate history and architecture, but I think they are the minority. Age is appreciated more in Europe, in people as well as buildings. In the US we are a young country and have a fascination with youth and newness.
I think me and France would be a heart match.

  39. Ok Corey, I do understand the beauty of age, I REALLY do! I am curious though about all of the peeling paint, does no one like to paint in France?
Your husband is such a good sport! I imagine that is one thing he likes about you, your wonderful American sense of humor!
