On Top of the World

On-top-of-the-world

The top of the world is-

In the middle of a traffic jam and running late to pick up my son.

In the grocery store, cart full, money in pocket, car outside, home to go to.

The top of the world… as we go home, turn of the light, call out, "We're home!" put the groceries away, stand in front of the cupboard and wonder what to fix for dinner… then because we don't feel like cooking,  call for pizza.

Ah ha the top of the world with extra cheese.

Gee God please don't let me forget that life is good right where I stand.

We called for… un couscous !!!

  2. Can’t imagine you ever forgetting how good things are for you 😉 Isn’t it great that it’s the little things that give such great satisfaction?

  3. You are truly blessed.
We must all count our blessings
I posted a very similar theme today.

I think a quarterly reminder to live in the moment and be glad should be a regular feature Corey ! Thanx, Jx

  6. What would we do without the telephone? … no pizza…no dinner!

What a great prayer ~ to not forget that life is good right where I stand. It really is. I think we forget that sometimes, looking over the fence at someone else and we think the grass must certainly be greener. Great reminder on being grateful for who we are, what we have, and with whom we have to share it.

  8. Life is good, isn’t it! God’s daily provisions and bountiful goodness, the everyday things we are blessed with should all be reasons to be thankful. Thank you Corey, for helping me to remember to be thankful for the simple things because they are really the important tnings!

  9. I realized a few months ago that this is the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. Sure the economy may stink right now, but we all have many many blessings.

  10. This was a wonderful post. So true. I have three children under 10, and it is so easy to feel like the days are eaten up with just taking care of their basic needs, but when there is joy in bathing little bodies and schooling little minds . . . then these become the best days of my life. I know a day will come when I will wish my house was strewn with baby dolls and my laundry was full of little clothes.
    Bless you today.

  11. Life is what you make it. It can be mixed up or straight out of a can. I like it both ways!!

  14. Corey dear – I’ll be in touch with you when I get back. Been so busy visting every vide-grenier, brocante and market within Southwest France it seems! Two “colissimo” la Poste boxes have been mailed – pray they arrive safely.
Hope Judy and Chris had a safe trip home. We are off to London in the morning – fly across the pond on Sunday.
Did you see La Madone featured in the Sept/Oct. CAMPAGNE magazine!!! Nathalie didn’t breath a word (she is adorable and Jean-Bernard quite dishy!!!) about the article. I picked up the mag. the day after we left and almost fell over when I turned the page and saw the beautiful house and garden! Thanks so much for sending us there – I truly hated leaving it was so fabulous.
Hope all is well – thanks for your kind words – it was a wonderful day with you all.

  15. I was so proud of my son’s prayer last night before dinner. He said: “God, you bless us too much”. And to that our table gave a hearty AMEN!
    Thank you Corey.

  16. Why is that? Get groceries then have no get-goin’ left to do anything but pick up some pizza–I hear ya. But all in all blessings indeed.

  17. How true! Thanks for the reminder.

Wonderful sentiments and wonderful blog. So glad to have found ‘tongue in cheek’.

  19. There is always a sweet surprise of a blessing from God every day but we must open our hearts to truly see them.
    love and blessings

  20. Thank you for saying this today. I’ve had my mind on something that makes me cranky and truth is my life is too good to be giving it any more attention.

What a perfect reminder. I shall tuck it into my memory and remind myself daily.
Tomorrow when I awake and prepare to take my daughter to a pumpkin carving party, I will quietly mention under my breathe, “She is the last one who chooses to fashion a face from a bulbous squash . . . enjoy it to the fullest.”
A pizza on the spur-of-the-moment will always sing out “The good life” as well as cartons of fragrant chinese and picnics gathered pell-mell at the market before setting off to while away the day at Lake Tahoe. It’s all good. Life — such a gift!! : )
