Roses for Daisy

 a rose for daisy

A rose for Daisy…  My Godchild Daisy is my childhood friend's four month old baby who has been in the hospital since mid November. (Daisy's mother and a good friend of mine wrote me an email to share with you how Little Daisy is doing.)

"...Daisy tells me with her eyes so much she tells me that she wants to be held, that she wants to get better,
that she wants me to continue to be loved and that I must not waiver, that she
loves me and my devotion to her is expected! Thank you for sending your readers
our way. More than ever, we need prayers. The longer our dear girl is on the
ventilator the harder it is to take her off. Yesterday they put in a central
line, it took 2 1/2 hours to do - but this is much better because the
medications make her sweet little veins collapse (they do heal over time).
I am doing what all mothers do - I am loving my child and watching over her. I
am asking questions of her "team" and I am making sure that she stays
comfortable. Most importantly, I am praying.
I am making her a coat, and am determined that when it is finished she will come home in it.
I'm 1/2 done with one sleeve, so I better knit quickly.

  9. I continue to pray as I think about Daisy who is so beautiful. Also Cameron, our great-nephew who came much too early into this world in October – he struggles to have a future too.
Then there is James, our little guy in California who, at the tender age of just 4, has just undergone his third huge heart surgery – they will continue until he’s big enough for a transplant. Meanwhile he plays with his much loved trains and is now home after a month in hospital.
Keep praying please, and as we watch those snowflakes fall this Winter, let’s hope a good God saves these precious babies so they too will know the wonder.

  10. Mary, I’ll pray for Cameron and James as well. Please keep us updated on how they are doing.

  17. Corey,
I am the mother of “Rosey”, so I will have no trouble remembering “Daisey’s” name when I whisper my prayers to heaven at various times over the coming days.
The beauty of Motherhood is the Grace we are given by God to simply continue in the face of anything scary or even impossible. We are mothers and that is enough. Sara will also be in my prayers.
    Love, Cheryl

Prayers to baby and mom for strength through crisis. Prayers for doctor’s wisdom and skill. Prayers for little Daisy’s recovery.
And knitting. A kind of meditation. A prayer in itself. Knit your love, mom. Knit your prayers, and hopes and dreams into that little coat that Daisy will soon wear.
