Wonderland on a Rainy Day

Early morning. Raining. Dark stay-in-bed-sky, seven a.m.. The weather cancels going to the brocante… Grab my "trying-to-be-my-friend-MAC", fluff up the pillows in bed, jump back in bed, put my cold feet on French Husband's hot feet, surf around on the net with the words: "Christmas Decor", my creative juices started pumping, French Husband hears me oohing and aahing, thinks something is up until he sees my MAC… but before I could jump out of bed and start creating Christmas magic with the inspiration I have gathered, I sense French husband has another idea….

Mac is jealous. The Christmas ideas can wait–

Much later and the day is still grey and raining outside….

  1. It certainly is a season for pleasure.
    Feasts for the senses abound.

    Ouhlala….Christmas is HOT !! 😉
I love your tree . Do you pick natural trees or do you use a plastic one ? Here , in Brazil , it is very hard to find a fir tree so everybody uses plastic and boy , are they ugly ! Ours is quite tall but skinny and it does not stand very straight . Really a poor looking thing . I would love a plastic tree like the ones I’ve seen in the adds of issues of Martha Stewart’s Living magazine . They look so beautiful , sturdy , majestuous and most come with magical led lights in them . That would save cuting a live tree and still having this rich Christmassy feeling…Oh well . Wishing you a very nice sunday !( I’m finished packing ! Yay !)

  4. my husband is out of town so i followed your links and will spend the morning dreaming of beauty elsewhere. thanks!!

  5. Hi M
Ours is a “save the forest type of tree.”
I bought it when Chelsea was born… I’ll have to tell you about our “real” Christmas tree… Maybe I’ll post about next week.

Oooh La La and the smells of Christmas can waft in through the windows.
    Peace

  8. OK! ah ha! I figured out how to comment:)I sent you an email. xo

  9. things can always wait…
    😉

  10. if that is your tree- it is lovely. I need inspiration. I have so many decorations- but sometimes I am so busy that the thought of dragging it all out, just to take it down and drag it all back up to the attic- is just too much for me……I can deal with looking at lovely pictures though…

  11. Corey, Christmas is a glorious season but FH’s ideas are a season also.

  12. The Christmas trees this year are two undecorated little live evergreens from Walgreens. They are in glazed pots on the front porch—looking out to the SNOW on the ground. Your tree is gorgoues Corey! Perfectly decorated.

  13. Hasn’t the rain today been amazing, it didn’t stop once…I ended up soaking leaks in our house.
    Your tree is beautiful.

  14. Oh yeah! Christmas decorations and lazy weekend mornings in bed with the one we love – perfect!
Thank you for the links, Corey. I’ve been so busy with guests visiting that I haven’t had time to really decorate. I’m looking forward to doing that over the next three days. And to catching up with my blog reading (you have a mac? I am so behind with my Tongue in Cheek reading…).

  15. You’ve given two delightful ways to spend a Sunday morning! Here, we woke up to snow and cancelled church. A leisurely breakfast started our day.

  16. Lovely websites to visit. I love Sea Angels and The A B C’s of Christmas. Beautiful items. But….sounds like you and French Husband have other ideas for the morning????

  17. You have sex in the afternoon and I am jealous. Every time I think about heading back to bed, 6 pets and a bunch of kids follow me.

  18. I’ll decorate for you. I love doing trees and I don’t even mind taking them down. One of the guys from our local paper suggested that I should do the decorations for all three blocks of our downtown. LOL.

  19. Ooh la la!!! That is a wonderful way to start a day.
I am counting down to Christmas, with the Icelandic Christmas Elves on my blog…I hope you come for a visit 🙂

  20. Oh la la, Corey!

  21. My first instinct was to say, “Ooh la la!” and I see it has been said many times here already! So I’ll just say… STAY IN BED! lol

  22. Thanks for the links Corey, I always need some inspirations…..

  23. Corey,
It would be my honor to have you decorate my houseand tree for the holidays. I would have a giant party right after- casue I know it will never have looked so good 🙂

Lovely blog. Frank and I stayed in bed recovering from three evenings of parties. My office party, his office party and then on Sunday our new house open house/tree lighting party. It’s a real tree with real burning candles. Everyone brings home made ornaments and we sing carols. It’s quite fun. I’ll send a picture.
