He had ordered her favorite flowers. Pink and delicate like her lips.

His coat…her hat, the details fell into place.

Her bare leg teased him. She teased, "Only red shoes are worn underneath my dress."

The napkin unfolded, he held his dessert.

The waiter was not part of his plan.

Every picture tells a story. How does this one end?

  1. A fairy tale is your life hand written by God and they lived happily ever after.
    Blessings

  2. Unfortunately he is challenged to a duel by her jealous husband.
    How’s that for an ending?
    – Suzanne, the Farmer’s Wife

  3. What Jeanne said sounds good to me!:-)

  4. The waiter drops the tray, pummels the man and produces handcuffs. He says “Aha you scalawag-you will never be able to charm innocent women and steal their fortunes again.” “The young lady beside you is Inspector Solange and we both work for Interpol”.
Maybe I’ve read too many mystery novels!

  5. the waiter rushes in, pulling them apart. the coy look on her face changes into pure bliss. he noticed! her plan had worked…

  6. I love happy endings and this one was of the happiest variety and held great satisfaction for both. The discrete waiter was no doubt taking notes and thinking of his OWN lady friend.
Hi Corey, I’ve been gone for a few days but have done a lot of visual catching up on your post of this week. I was so blissed out I could hardly make it out the door and go back to work this morning.
    Hugs,
    Annie

  7. Happily I’m sure!!!

  8. A secret never told of a trist and hidden romance. A romance held deep in her heart and treasured.

  9. It’s wonderful….are you going to buy it? or is it tres much.

  10. The waiter was her Father ( a sabre concealed beneath his jacket)!!!!!

  11. And then the dumps her!

  12. The gentleman suitor asked the waiter to send champagne, chocolate and strawberries to his suite above the restaurant. The young lady left to go to “the powder room”, shortly after, the gentleman suitor followed. She was waiting in his suite, poised coyly wearing nothing but her red shoes. You can imagine the rest, I’m sure.

  13. OOOOOOOH!!! Is this the tale of Mattieu et Eva????

  14. The waiter “swishes” in only to disclose the suitor is really HIS boyfriend and it was a plot by the two of them to steal her red shoes……

  15. Ohhh I’d like to think they go home after their evening, kiss their kids good night, and smile in enjoyment of their ‘date’

  16. Is this a large painting? It is very lovely.

  17. Hi Alina
The painting is about 12 inches by 20 inches more or less.

  18. this one ” finit mal ” …Paintings have to tell me stories

  19. the waiter is watching them through a mirror…inside the room
He then dreams about his love…
the woman look on the mirror’s direction and see the waiter, and smile…
It was LOVE at first sight!
She stop the kissing attempt and wait until the dinner is over to find her true love
(I’m sure they are looking themselves through a mirror Corey…)
    🙂

  20. She came to see the young handsome waiter (a neighbor she has known since childhood), not the older businessman who is clawing at her (look at the look on her face — total disinterest, she is pushing him away)! She was obligated to have dinner with him, as he is a colleague of her father’s. She will extract herself from the clutches of this wealthy and formidable suitor by feigning illness, have him drop her off at her father’s home, and sneak out later to meet the earnest waiter in the alley behind the restaurant.
The red shoes– She’s an independent young woman with a mind of her own!
