Snowing in Provence and the Garden of Eden

A pear, a clementine, and an apple that is what we have in our house to dine on, (oh and some orange liquor too.) a garden of Eden without a horn of plenty.
It is snowing heavily in Provence (a rare treat) and a trip to the market should be an interesting affair. Though sitting by the fire, taking photos of the three colorful fruits sounds more appetizing… until growing boy comes home with his constantly bottom-less pit.

Note: Our fountain in our garden

  1. I’m totally in love with these still life photos ! It is snowing so much in Aubagne …I like it when I’m inside and I don’t have to move but I’m working

  2. Girl, you do have a knack for still-lifes! I swear, some of those could be paintings.

  3. How about some pasta? This is my salvation dinner more often than not.

  4. Blessings I love all you share and treasure every moment with your loved ones.
    Blessings

  5. Your still life photos are just fabulous….do you go to the market everyday???

  6. Wow Corey ~ a rare snow storm. We just had a huge “rare” snow storm. A record breaking two feet to be exact! (usually IF it snows it’s two inches) We had snow stay on the ground for over 22 days.
Have fun enjoying the beauty abd finding creative ways to get supplies!!!

  7. Magical images!
Snow in Provence, are you out sledding? 😉

  8. Lovely images Corey – I want linen curtains too – fell in love with them at La Madone. Of course I fell in love with everything Nathalie used to decorate her beautiful home!!!
Snow looks gorgeous on your fountain – mine is just full of water and fallen leaves as the rains are heavy today and the winds gusting to 30 mph. Hoping for at least a dusting of snow sometime this Winter, want to get some nice garden shots.
Time to re-stock the pantry – poor Sacha will be looking for more than a clementine I’m certain!
What’s going on with the bath tub? Can’t stand the waiting!

  9. Corey, have you ever made a clementine candle? I just saw one for the first time!
The snow is gorgeous, as are your photos – as always! I’m just glad I can see it through photos and not be in it 🙂

  14. What a beautiful fountain. Is that water frozen that looks like it is coming out of the fountain? I love your still life’s very pretty.
So right about teenagers having bottomless pit’s. Better get to the store and fast!!!

It is hard to imagine snow in Provence for a Summer visitor ! Would love to see some photographs of Provencal towns & villages covered in snow Corey if you are feeling adventurous. It has also been snowing in Kent – “the garden of England”. Jx

  16. Snowing in Provence sounds so poetic and exotic.
It’s snowing in Illinois also. It just doesn’t sound as romantic.

  17. The fountain looks lovely draped in snow.

  18. For Sacha- Hand him a basket and his boots and tell him to go get what he wants!!
I want to paint the clementine and the pitcher. 😉 These photos are all just beautiful. Certainly a bright spot on a rather wierd day here in Georgia. One minute sunny, the next wind blowing like crazy, the next pouring down rain. Really? Make up your mind already.
I’ll take a snowy afternoon in Provence any day.

  19. I knew I felt snow in the air while I was in Paris. There is a magic
to snowy days, everything frozen in time. What a beautiful winter
scene your fountain makes. Enjoy your day by the cozy fire.

  20. Your photos and their arrangement simply transform! It is dreary and snowy here in Boston, but somehow your photos (especially these) seem lovely and slightly haunting and have lifted my spirits!

  21. These photos are inspirational. My itchy fingers and paint may have to get together, although it will be a task to produce the magic you have done here. Thanks for welcoming us to your feast!

  22. Corey …your photography is so breathtaking. Each and everytime I visit, I’m so impressed with your understated eye for simplistic yet ever so elegant photo’s.
Wishing you a wonderfully Happy New Year …and yes, some orange liquor sounds absolutely perfect!

  23. magical photos and a dreamy way to spend the day seeking beauty in what is right there in front of us- must say, the Languedoc has had a dusting of snow as well and being fireside is heavenly–ps your photos are fab!! with joy

  24. Hi Corey, I haven’t been able to check in much since the week before Christmas since we have been shoveling roof tops! Talk about snow! We have over 100 inches in a matter of 2 weeks. Your pictures are a breath of fresh air. Just Beautiful! Blessings, Kimberly

  25. eeewww, eeewww, eeewww…one of our “bestest” family memories was a trip to provence around this time of year and having it snow while we were in aix. growing up in madrid – my kids didn’t get to see much snow – so it was a treat beyond belief. just like your photos day after day after day after…

Last Sunday when Paris area became all white with snow overnight, I thought it would be fair to share it all with you…
    Kind, aren’t I ?
    I’ve got a banana ans a mango … Let’s make a fruit salad, the two of us…

  30. I can’t believe it has been so long since I have visited.
These photos are simply stunning. The color of the fruit vs. the neutral setting is just delicious.
    Happy New Year Corey!!
    xo Karen
