Just to let you Know

FRENCH-HANDWRITTING-POSTCAR

Hi
Tomorrow I plan on responding to some of the questions you have asked…
Such as:

How much does a house cost in France? -How does your ring stay on like that? -What size is your kitchen? -Can I have your stove?
-Where is the best place to stay in Paris?
-Are you going to show us FH in the bathtub?
-Why don't you write a book?

If you have anything else you would like to know this is your chance to ask.

  1. You always seem so carefree and easy going. Like you just roll with life’s punches. Have you always been that way?

  2. And my question about following a director’s career? Maybe you could reveal yourself an excelent Woody Allen assistant! 😉
    LOve*

  3. What’s happening with Eva and Matthieu?

  4. Have you found a reasonably priced way to send paintings, small chandeliers, etc. to the US?
Last time I was there, I was quoted over $500 to ship a painting – it was not that big, but was heavy with a gilt-wood frame. Needless to say, I didn’t buy it because of the shipping costs.
So glad you found your ring! 🙂

  5. just one question? hope not.. but to start with:
please, please tell me how you keep your white towels so perfectly white 🙂
    oh and another..
oneday can you tell us of your time of contemplating being a NUN??
and I love Darlene’s question!! You sure are an inspiration in being carefree and easy going….

  6. What did Yann’s co-workers and your friends think of your Bathing post? 😉

  7. There are so many questions I would like to ask you. I think it will have to be’ how do you find the time to do everything?’ I would really like to ask you that in person though, maybe one day.

  8. When you are in California…where do you do your antique shopping? Where does you mom shop?

  9. How did you learn to speak French? What do you think is the best way to learn French if you do not live in France?
Have you and Yann ever considered living in America?

  10. CAN I COME FOR A VISIT?
YOU SAID TO JUST ASK. WOULDN’T IT BE FUNNY TO LISTEN TO A MAINE ACCENT?!

I want to know what your husband does for a living. Does he have siblings? How does he like your large, loving family.

  12. So many good questions already (I, too, would like to know more about your time in the monastery, and of course how Mattieu and Eva are–recognizing that they deserve their privacy and understanding if you can’t share, and photos of FH–surely there must be a calendar in that).
So I’ll ask two other questions:
    1) What is your heart’s desire, Corey?
    2) How many balls do you usually have in the air at once? I know you buy for yourself and also others at the brocante. You are regularly published in various magazines. You are mother and wife and daughter, etc. You tackle remodeling like nobody’s business. You’re amazing!

  13. Where should I look for a French husband? 😉

  14. I really the way you’ve written the “About” section. Are you really related to most of the citizens of Willows? How is Shelley doing? Are you going to restart your internet shop again so we can buy some treasures? Of course all of us single women want to know the answer to Rebecca’s question!

  15. What happened to the boy in love with your daughter?
All of these are good questions. This is why you could write such a great book– because you draw us in with your words and stories. This woman, Susan Tiberghien
    http://www.susantiberghien.com/works.htm
married a Frenchman and lives and writes in France, I think (or maybe it’s now Switzerland). She was a later in life author, and teaches writing courses…

  16. Have been reading for a while without commenting….
Just wondering if you an recommend any good sources of information and standard prices for antiques in France? (I’m thinking the french equivalent of a Miller’s guide). Fiancee and I plan to go to a bit nuts while we’re visiting france but would like to have some idea of how much we should be paying… (That way we have more money left to buy other stuff!)

  17. Rosemary Plunkett

Here are my questions, in no particular order. Does FH have a brother?! Will you reopen your internet shop? (I love the things you show on your blog, like old postcards, the lace and ribbon, many other things too.) How DO you pronounce FH’s name — you once commented about how most American’s would pronounce it . . . And last, the details of your trial run as a nun. (I once as a young girl claimed I wanted to be a nun!)

  18. Will you do a video interview of yourself (and tour of your house and town) so we can imprint the sound of your voice to your words?

  19. Jennifer from Sacramento

So glad you found your ring, and I love your blog, your pictures and all of our commentary!
-Did Styrofoam Molding turn out nicely???? The website makes it sound soo easy!

  20. Hi Corey, Your bathroom remodel is wonderful!.I too have a couple of questions…How do you spend a regular day?…Are you an early riser? Do you have decorating shows like on HGTV here in N. America and do you watch TV? Sorry, this is more than a couple of questions. I got carried away. ;o) Take care

  21. I have just discovered this blog and it’s wonderful – gorgeous photos and helpful info. I hope you publish a book soon so we can all continue to live vicariously – I do have a question: can you recommend specific auction houses for antiques – all I find online is very high end fine art sales. I’m looking for sales like we have in the UK where there the whole spectrum is covered from £1 to thousands under one roof. I’d like to drive to France and load up! Many thanks and let us know how to help raise the blog’s profile – it’s one of the best!

  22. Hi Corey…I have a question. When French Husband and you converse, does he speak to you in English, or French?
He is a beautiful man. Lucky you!

  23. Hey Corey, I love when you answer questions! You have mentioned that your village is very small and your children have to commute an hour to high school. Does French Husband also have to commute quite a distance to work? How long have you lived in your village, and what led you to move there? And could you describe the layout of your house, which rooms are on which floors? Hope that’s not too many, answer what you can! Love, Pam

Hi Corey. I hope I have this story right. I think you said one time that Yann’s family home was occupied by the German’s during WW2. I’d love to hear more about that story and see a picture of their home.

  25. Aw, comn Corey……..you know you are going to write a book !!! Don’t let us down.
    And….
What size shoe do you wear?
    Do you miss mexican food?
Have you run out of room for all that great stuff you show us?
    Just one fireplace?
Show us a picture of the grocery store you frequent.

  26. Cabra Seis

Corey–I love your new picture at the top of”who I am”. It’s so cute!

  27. I’m on the bandwagon w/Liberty Post Editor. Would you do a video of yourself at a brocante or your ‘hood? 🙂 (I would love to place a voice to your visage!)

  28. Kristy Cramer

Corey, you are beautiful inside AND out…so why do you hide yourself from photographs?
    Kristy from Oregon USA

  29. Ok… these questions come from someone who dips into the archives and then reads only new posts for a while… hope they arent too personal – although if I have an idea that maybe I read things here maybe you have already talked about them…. hmmmmm.
    Are you a cancer survivor?
Is this your first or second marriage? (a child bride obviously)
Is FH too chicken to let you post bathtime photos on the blog…? Funny, I always thought him to be a dare devil.. flying planes, rock climbing, walking along planks of wood to get out to rocks in the ocean… you know, things like that. 😉
    looking forward to your answers…
    Courtney
PS… if FH falls for the bath time dare (ha!) then it has to be a proper photo of him in the same manner like you were brave enough to show… none of this just revealing only a big toe business…. yeah….

  30. My first 3 questions have already been asked.
What were your experiences with wanting to be a Nun.
Are Eva and Mattieu still together?
Do you think you will ever live in the U.S. again?
My last question is about the people in your village. Because the town is over 1000 years old, how far back can anyone trace their heritage.
I’m happy you found your ring Corey.

  31. Great questions, I have 3 (except the ring one which you already mentioned):
    1. Mattieu & Eva – whats happening ?
    2. The “tu” & the “vous” – what are the rules?
    3. The rules of French kissing (as a greeting rather than the lovers version !)
    Have a wonderful day, Jxx

  32. How is your mother doing after
her stroke? I hope she has recovered
well. Does she still make cookies
    for the lovely grandchildren?

  33. I’ve just been through all the comments and read all the questions…
It’s amazing how they go in all directions …
They would make me feel driving round Place Charles de Gaulle (= Place de l’ Etoile)in Paris, with all the way-outs and all the traffic keeping coming in and tucking you away in the middle… !!!
Bonne lecture et bon courage !!!

  34. Oh, have I got a question for you:
What color are the candles on your bathroom chandelier?
Thanks to all who have asked questions before me! 😉

  35. Darling Corey, You are my morning inspiration. I have thought many times of writing a blog but I have bad moods and attitudes sometimes and who wants to hear me fire off about this or that. Your mood seems always to be focused on beauty and love. How do you do it? Day after day, you never falter. You bring happiness, hope, joy and beauty into each of our lives. I think it is just you being you…. no trick in that little black bag. You’re an inspiration.
But if there is a recommendation you can make of how to stay on such a great track,or what you do each day before writing… I am all ears. Hugs, Billie

  36. Hello Corey,
My question to you is how do you edit yourself at the markets with all the lovely items there! I go to many estate sales and there aren’t at all as many beautiful things as there are where you shop and I have to really stop myself from wanting more than I can use or store. Also this is a request, your magazine articles are so beautiful (they are what brought me to this blog which I read faithfully every morning) please consider a book! I know your fans would love one. I hope your mother is doing well, I pray for her as well as for your family. I did not marry a French Husband rather I married a California Husband. We live in Michigan. So I am enthralled by your journeys home to Willows as well as by your life in France. Thank You for your blog. Cristina

  37. Do you like movies or TV? Do you have favorite shows on TV? French? English? Are you a netflix subscriber? What are some of your favorite films? What was the last newest film you saw? What did you you think of it?
Sorry it’s a jamble of questions but I’m kind of dying to know. This is my chance to ask right?
    Charles W.

  38. The book…?

  39. Hi Corey:
I read your blog everyday and am amazed at your gorgeous photos, ability with words…but mostly with your attitude that is so loving and accepting.
Anyhow, my husband and I are traveling to Paris in mid-March for 10 glorious days and I’d love to know your top tips.
How would you spend 10 days in Paris?
