Holy Thursday, Being Communion for one Another.

Flowers-in-your-hair

The gift we give to one another is in the breaking of the bread,
when our paths cross, we share of ourselves.
Giving from the source of who we are,
the essence of our interior self.
Communion.

Flower-pattern

Cherishing the sacred moment of connection with another.
Sensing the spiritual seed of exchange taken root,
Watering the exchange with an free heart.

To share life, there is no greater gift than to be communion for one another.

To see with our hearts,

To listen with our eyes, to speak with our actions,

& to love regardless of the gain.

  1. Corey,
sharing bread with you would be a priviledge. Despite the distance between us there is a closeness that I cherish and so even though I will not be at your table or you at mine physically, I feel that we share bread with all the gifts of love that you share. I am blessed to know you and I wish you and your family all the blessings that you deserve at this time of endings and beginnings. love Ana

    Hi Irina
I do not do embroidery. Though, I am attracted to old ones, that I find at the brocante, that aren’t finished…
    Thanks for noticing.

  15. This brings to mind a beloved song:
Won’t you let me be your servant,
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I may have the grace
to let you be my servant too.

  16. So true Britt-Arnhild…for without our Savior, we would have no pattern to follow, no selfless motivation to act upon and no written Word to show us how.
He, Jesus is our ultimate communion!
    Thanks Corey
    Blessings for Easter

  20. How beautifully put Corey!
I was just thinking how I wish I could be sitting at a table with my family and dear friends. When I was younger, our parish would have baskets full of ‘french bread’. After Holy Thursday service everyone would receive a small baguette. All six of my siblings and I would take it home and savor the bread and each other’s company.
On special occasions when my freinds and I are able to all get together, we all partake in the Blessing Cup, a tradition started 13 years ago by a friend in college. It was one of his family traditions that he shared with us and we have treasured it since.
Your post reminded me of the wonderful online people that have I have connected with. Thanks for giving me words to feed on.

  21. I decided tonight to look up blogs in different parts of the world, my thinking being that it would be fun to see how people live in all of the places I will never go. The first link I followed was yours… Guess I will get to the rest of the world later, ’cause I had so much fun reading here that I forgot to move on!

  22. Have a beautiful Easter. I wish you sunshine, peace and a chocolate bunny!

  23. Happy Easter, TICA!

  24. Your words are perfectly stated. Wishing you a blessed Easter weekend.

    Indeed~~ Maundy Thursday:
The term “Maundy” is a shortened version of the Latin term “Mandatum” or mandate–a word universally associated in the early church with Christ’s command that His disciples should love one another (John 13:34).

  26. Sounds like you had an eventful Easter with two little ones around 🙂 I can relate as I have a two year old and a seven week old and there is never a dull moment. Every time I get in my car there is a long conversation with my two year old about staying with me, holding my hand, etc. as she sometimes says, “Julia run away” and then she tries to bolt for the nearest puddle or whatever has caught her eye! I love the picture of the unfinished embroidered cloth – I often look for unfinished embroidered cloths at antiques markets, etc as they are usually fairly inexpensive and it is fun to look for the coloured threads to match what someone else has already started and then to finish it. I always wonder who worked on it before, and why they didn’t finish it. Beautiful!
