A day with baby in the garden.
There is no better medicine than to hold a baby in a hammock on a spring day.
To pick daisies,
to sing lullabies,
to eat teething biscuits,
to frolic under the sun, hand in hand,
to have your shirt tugged,
to feel dirt under your fingernails,
to see the world on another level,
and to cuddle for the sake of cuddling.

Baby in daisies

Baby in the garden

Certainly this is one of the seven wonders of the world:
To see the world as a child.

Note: Baby is my French Husband's youngest cousin, Anais.

  14. My brother-in-law used to say that the world would be a much better place if every world leader and CEO of every company held a baby for 10 minutes each day.

  15. You bring artistry to the most ordinary of things. There are baby pictures and baby pictures and baby pictures. But you create BABY PICTURES. Just exquisite.

Such a beautiful child in a sweet outfit and what a nice looking park. I especially like the one of the two of you in the hammock.

“My brother-in-law used to say that the world would be a much better place if every world leader and CEO of every company held a baby for 10 minutes each day.” What a marvelous quote from Debra, and one that I completely agree with.

I so long to have more moments like that with my lovely Grandchildren, alas they are far away in Denmark. I treasure every moment with them.
I did a post on the time I spent with them at Easter. It is the post just below the current one.

Nothing lifts my spirit like being in the presence of a baby.
I think preschools should be built next to assisted living for the elderly, with a big window looking on to their playground and plenty of visits.

God has given us the precious gift of children! She is priceless! Love her outfit and blond curls! Brings thoughts of my seven babies ….all boys with dark hair. Tomorrow we leave for the college graduation of my youngest. Beautiful memories come as I look at your lovely pictures of a grand daughter. I now have five blond ones and one curly blond grandson! Thanks for sharing your beauty!

Wonderful to see how we can enjoy baies, rather than thinking of them as a burden. Inhale the perfume of her locks, tickle toes and act silly, as she will not be a baby much longer!

  34. I have long admired your photos from afar. I have several Somerset issures which have taken me the closest to Paris that I have been, and I have popped in and out of your website many times. In all of this time I have never paid any attention to the actual address of your website, only instead seeing the title of Tongue in Cheek. When I did finally notice the address willows95988, it looked oddly familiar and I was trying to place why when it struck me…Willows 95988….I live in Chico 95973!
I have many friends and spend much time in Willows, Ord Bend, Orland, and Capay, such a small world! Thank you for all of the enjoyment, and all of my mini vacations!

  35. I have one of those! She looks a lot like Charlotte. Is this your little neice who you put the pjs on backwards?

  36. Bridget

The baby is adorable. Your post is lovely.

I wrote my comment a few hours ago as I thought of my daughter’s art project. She is to illustrate something ephemeral and chose babies. We got nostalgic choosing baby photos of her litte brother and how quickly it seemed that he was no longer a baby!

  38. There is nothing better than cuddling a baby when your heart aches from grieving.

  39. This is one of the loveliest, most profound things I have seen all week. What a blessing. Thank you!

  40. Baby is just beautiful!!

  41. Beauty.
    🙂

  42. Beautiful child with a beautiful name. Nine months into our life with out adopted daughter, I am bowled over each and every day by the enchantment of life in the world of a child. How come no one ever told me? I probably would have tried parenthood a lot sooner!

  43. Lizbeth

Beautiful pix of a beautiful child.

  44. Angel baby! My three year old daughter would love that lawn! As it is now she picks all my flowers: tulips, Gerber daisies, iris, sigh…
