Raphael at Heaven’s Door

Raphael

This is an angel, his name says so… Raphael. Each time I see him, I ask him if he wants to come live at my house. I tell him I will buy him candy for breakfast, candy for lunch and candy for dinner. He giggles, and yet I know his answer is no.

Raphael at the door

But then if I lived at La Madone I would never want to leave either.

Note: I am at my friend's home, taking photos of their newest, holiday apartment. I am green with jealousy, it is just way to nice to be possible; I told them they need to adopt me, they think I am teasing!
(French Husband and children I do love you, honestly I do.)

  5. Oh yes, I remember meeting that cutie Raphael and thinking I might smuggle him home with me!!
Do Nathalie & Jean Bernard have yet another apartment available now? If so, I can imagine it will be just a stunning as the others – we stayed in Chanvre and I fell in love and didn’t want to vacate! Can’t wait to see pics.
Just back from England – Spring was just awesome, how did I ever leave my birthplace when I lived surrounded by such beauty….and with France just a wave across the water? Being a crazy teenager, I must have been on ‘the ship of fools’ when I crossed the pond instead of the English Channel, ha! ha!
Hope the kitchen is coming along.
    Hugs, Mary.

  8. What wonderful portraits of this angel, Corey! He looks like a little French prince…and he lives in a beautiful castle, too. 🙂
PS: A friend of mine sent me the following link yesterday. It’s a website for motorcyclists thinking of traveling through parts of North America. Their photo gallery features some pretty cool locations.

Is this possible . . . all the children (yours included) you photograph in France, are all beautiful angels but then again so are your nieces and nephews in the USA.
Love that apartment, that settles that I am moving, oh which one — all of them I would live/love in a different one for different seasons.

I think I have finished your archives now (wonderful, wonderful read. I wept at the loss of your dad), and I must say, where do you find all these beautiful people to photograph?! I am convinced your whole family are professional models.
I will be in your neck of the woods in about a month (a blissful 5 weeks in “our town” outside of Uzes) Now I am even more excited about the brocantes! I am a slut for old linens.
Thank you for such a wonderful blog and for sharing your life with us so open heartedly. You are a gift to all of us. Rebecca in NYC

  23. All children are small beautiful angels.
Maybe there are a few that only come out when they are asleep. Smile.
Thank you for sharing your life and journeys.

  24. How adorable.
Alas … you’re right … who wouldn’t want to live where he lives?
