Pink at the Grand Palais

Grand-palais-paris

The Grand Palais in Paris is showing Andy Warhol. The entrance doors, those massive, iron doors are a must see at sunset. The sunlight streams through them sending a wild kaleidoscope of color on the exterior, stone columns, floor, people… a natural Andy Warhol effect you might say.

  11. Greetings from Andy Warhol’s birthplace and home to the Warhol Museum! I’m pleased to read that you got to see the Warhol show while in Paris, as Andy was one of Pittsburgh’s gifts to the art world, and at his best revolutionized how art and design can be as one.
The most unexpected Warhol experience I’ve ever had was just last year in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, in the Azores, when I entered the lobby of the Hotel VIP (pronounced “veep” in Portuguese) and did a double-take as I spotted awhole wall in the main floor’s open cocktail lounge filled with Warhol prints — talk about déjà vu (or, if you prefer, all the comforts of home) for this adopted Pittsburgher!

Love how you have brought out pink this week. Bold primary colours are my usual Warhol impressions. But your Laduree indulgence created the tint!
Thanks for reminding me to add these destinations for the August Paris visit for my daughter with her grandmother.
