Antiquing in France, and wanting to redo my entire house because of it!

Photo Corey Amaro,

If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me about antiquing, I would have enough money to buy every antique in France and offer it to you for a song. Since I haven't collected nickels, and since the questions about antiquing are rocketing into orbit due to the summer holidays, I thought I would list a few of my favorite places to go antiquing, shopping and finding home decor.

The places listed below have online shops, they are located in France.

If you have a favorite place please add it to the comment section.

Oh my goodness I am running late with posting this, I got carried away linking sites, and drooling over my keyboard, and wanting to go antiquing and remembering I need to paint my kitchen…. you understand don't you how I can easily get off track, living in France does that to me, it just carries me away, and brings me back with a full heart… I wonder how one country can be just so amazingly sensual… I hope you enjoy the sites listed as much as I do.

ok. I just fell in love a million times over. how is it that all of the places I FIND are dreary rats’ havens with little charm? do you have any Dordogne tips ? everything here is divine… (on your blog, not the brocant’ing in the dordogne!)

  2. I just have to come back, I’m dying to visit these places………….but first I must win the Lottery so I can afford to ship a container….or two, or even three!!
I found a fabulous shop full of French beauty (and a little Swedish and Belgian too) in New Hampshire last week. I’ve done one post and will have another up tomorrow showing what I purchased! This lady has ‘the eye’ most definitely – you would approve Corey.
Thanks for sharing all these lovely shops.

  3. Oh my, what wonderful finds! Where shall I start……….perhaps by robbing a bank? lol

  4. Trouvais

Happy sigh. Heavenly! Thanks so much for sharing. Now even more envious of sister-in-law who will be visiting in August…

How beautiful! My 900sf house has a large grandfather clock (made by my parents) and an upright piano in it along with regular furniture. No room for the grand pieces you showed. But then again, I got to enjoy the beauty without having to spend money or dust the items! You’d be so much fun to window shop with in person.

  6. kelleyn

My bank account is going to be a little lighter after seeing all these wonderful places to shop.

  7. A decorative feast for the eyes! Makes me want to go there even more. I’m off now to visit some of these beautiful sites. Should I be prepared for sticker shock?

Oh I want to drool over all this and their websites forever. I want to live in France! When I visited France last month I didn’t find anything like this and I even went to Rennes.

  15. Corey, I just emailed the link to today’s post to a California friend currently in Paris on vacation. Hope it’s not too late for them to use some of your tips.

  20. oh my goodness. a person could really get into trouble, couldn’t they?!

  21. florence de boissieu

I’ve just seen that you put my adress on your blog and I thank you very much. This job is a passion and it’s a pleasure to communicate it. I hope I’ll meet you soon, perhaps at the “foire à la brocante de Chatou” in september. If you can come let me know. Flo, brocante de la bruyère.

  22. Thanks for the links-can’t wait to check them out 🙂

  23. Eileen @ Passions to Pastry

Oh My Gosh! Thank you so much for sharing all of this. Going to all of these on-line shops will almost be as much fun as actually being in France. And… I will cost-average. If something I fall in love with is expensive, I’ll remind myself that I’m not paying for air-fare, hotels, or a rental car. That will make it seem like a deal! What FUN.

  24. Thanks for all the great information. We are traveling to Paris in mid-September and, along with all the rest of the places we want to see again (this is our first rip back since 1992), we definitely want to visit some of the antique and “brocante” places. Your commentary in English and links are a great help.
