Travel Dreams…the countdown to the Big Day!

Travel-dreams

Travel dreams soon to become a reality.
Stay tune– motorcycle!
Stay awake– Corey!
We pick up the motorbike today, I have yet to get on it.
We had new brakes added.
The check list is being checked off.
House sitter in place. (I forewarned her about the neighbors!)
Drip system added to the courtyard.
French Husband just added a mountain of stuff to the molehill pile.
Locks for the bike, lock for the helmets, and those locks are chunky-monkeys, they take up the minimal space we had.
I told him those locks replace the black nightie I had in mind, he said we need locks, I said really? He looked at me funny, "What is a black Knee-tee?"
Tomorrow we head out… the adventure begins.

P.S.
Thank you for the great tips you have added! I appreciate them. I have added plastic sacks, toilet paper, and laundry soap to our check list.

P.S.S.
I will add a photo of our motorbike late today. What should we name it?

  4. Just a thought….a light silk scarf is perfect for wrapping round your neck under your jacket. it keeps out any tiny niggling draughts….drive safe. My Dad will be so pleased that you are taking plastic bags for ease of getting over trousers on!!!

You should name the bike, “Heidi”…or perhaps, “The Captain”…for Captain Von Trapp…is that too prosaic? : ) I can’t remember if you said you were packing sunscreen. Our town clerk just returned from a bike trip with her husband from Wa. to Yellowstone. She is TAAAAAAN!!!
    : )
Have a fun and safe and wonderful journey!
    Julie

  6. Julie M.

ps If you do name the bike “Heidi”…would your husband pronounce it, “I.D.?” Don’t forget that either…your I.D.
    : )

pps DON’T try to be too romantic…hot pink scarves blowing in the wind and motor bikes do not mix!

Spirit is a good name, for your spirit of adventure, the spirit of your father who is with you always, your spirit and French Husbands to take on a fabulous journey of discovery all over again and simply your spirit for life, love and laughter.
I am thinking of you now, it is the first thing I do every morning, hoping that some of your spirit will rub off on me!
    Love Ana

I think you should name the motorcycle
    Mr Rirrley McWheelie-dopple.
Just a thought, if that’s too formal ya could always call it Rirrrr for short. 😉

  13. Have a great trip and keep safe. I’m sure your Father would have been proud. And I agree with Ana Jacas, SPIRIT would be a lovely name for the bike. Just enjoy every moment together.

  14. Mary Ellen

I think you should name it Dreamride. Good for you to have this adventure! My only advice: Pay attention!

  15. La Framéricaine

    BORN TO BE WILD
    From the 1968 release “Steppenwolf”
Words and music by Mars Bonfire
    Get your motor runnin’
    Head out on the highway
    Lookin’ for adventure
    And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin’ go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
    And explode into space
    I like smoke and lightning
    Heavy metal thunder
    Racin’ with the wind
And the feelin’ that I’m under
Yeah Darlin’ go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
    And explode into space
    Like a true nature’s child
We were born, born to be wild
    We can climb so high
    I never wanna die
    Born to be wild
    Born to be wild
