What to do in Prague

Prague strawberry pancake

A few of my favorite things to do in Prague…of course this list is on growing, and I seriously doubt it will ever stop:

Cukrkavalimonada Cafe (Cukrkávalimonáda. cafe restaurant. Lázeňská 7, Pr aha 1. http://www. cukrkavalimonada.cz. +420257536628.) for anything delicious, coffee, hot chocolate, crepes, salads, pasta.. the interior is a modern, creative, old fashion mix… cosmopolitan: Hand painted beams, crystal lighting, wooded tables and painted chairs, also outdoor tables. Cukrkavalimonada (Coffee, tea, lemonade) is in a quiet square next to the St. Charles Bridge and Lennon Wall.

Prague elderberry wine

Beside the strawberry crepe at Cukrkavalimonada , I had a sparkling wine wine with elderberry juice and mint (a specialty of the cafe! I have been craving them ever since. French Husband had a hot chocolate on a hot day and it was more than worthy of ever ounce of sweat in drinking it. (13 euro for two drinks and two desserts.)

Castle steps prague hotel

The Castle Steps lovely, large, old apartments for holiday rentals (one night or more.)

On a quiet street, in the heart of Prague. Easy walk to everything. The staff at the Castle Steps, is exceptional: helpful, outgoing and very accommodating. The rooms and apartments are large, airy, well equipped and well, I want to live here forever if you haven't noticed.

Prague bellavista restaurant

Bellavista Restaurant, offers one of the best views overlooking Prague. Next to the monastery and park where there is a miniature Eiffel Tower.

Prague bellavista view

Bellavista Bar and Restaurant: Stunning view of the city, anytime of the day. Good food, Italian fare, outdoor and indoor dining both superb. Dinner for two with wine, costs around 35 euro. (Strahovske nadvori 1,  telephone, 420 220517 274)

Prague bell tower

Venture up one of the many bell towers in Prague, not only is the view incredible, but the inner stairwell an incredible hike. Old stone steps, lead to wooden steps, to little rooms, and then the bells, and the outer balconies.

Angel in prague

Prague angels on stairs

Angels and Prague go hand in hand. You do not need to look for them, they will bump into you on every step of the way throughout Prague.

Prague lennon wall imagine

Prague lennon wall

Lennon Wall, a haven for young and old fans of Lennon, an entire wall full of graffiti in honor of John Lennon.

Peace, love and whole lot of artistic art words of John Lennon's lyrics.

Prague St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague

St. Vitus Cathedral.

St. Vitus Cathedral.

Prague homemade beer

If you like beer than Prague will not disappoint you. I am not a fan of beer, but French Husband had a few, and while he did I had home made French fries. Sinfully good, that is why I posted the Prague home brew beer after the photos of the church.

Prague boat ride

Boat tours of the little Venice of Prague, in the evening under the St Charles Bridge. They serve drinks as part of the tour as well.

……… and much more.

We are off the day after tomorrow to discover… Budapest.

  1. Corey, a great way to spend some time in Prague is trying to make your way out to the radio/tv tower that you can see from everywhere. You’ll need to get on and off a few trams, but once you get there you can pay the equivalent to a couple of Euro to go up to the viewing platform. It’s wonderful, and there are aliens climbing up the side of the tower…

  2. Wow Corey… I was thinking to spend a couple of days in Spain but Prague is looking so good!!!! What a dilema!!! Vida x

  8. Looks beautiful! Sounds wonderful! Wish I was there. My husband and I have always wanted to go there, but haven’t quite made it yet. I have been to Budapest though, It is amazing. There is a church there you must go see. It has red marble columns and dark green colors too. It was the one church that after 6 weeks in Europe, I can imagine in my mind still! St. Stephen’s Basilica.

Corey are you sure that you really are not an undercover travel and food writer?!! because I really think that you should be. I could plan a trip simply based on your information you give us sights, sounds, smells, places to stay and prices to boot. You should be getting paid by some fancy travel magazine or something. I know where to go for information when I next plan a trip.
    Thank you
    Ana
