This morning not so bright and early Lieselotte, A., J. (three of our house guests: who I know from my blog) and I went antiquing at the French Brocante… and boy oh boy do I have a surprise for you! You will never guess, not in a million years what we found at the French Brocante today! Or I should say A. found at the brocante today and that I want!
A. likes what I like.
In a heap of dusty, crusty, papers in a worm-holed-box I found two paper back cookbooks titled: The Beautiful Butcher's Kitchen. Honestly, the French tie everything with sexiness– They can take an ordinary tomato slice it in half and serve it with a sizzling steak freshly cut on the butcher's block and cause your mouth to water. AND I do not even like steaks but I bought the two Beautiful Butcher's cookbooks hoping to make a trade with A.
French antique linens such as these hand sewn, heavy thread count, never been used, light red initials on the corner I could not resist. I have said there are enough antique French linens in France to circle the world twice, but finding affordable ones that is another thing. I did a happy dance as I scooped these up. Working the brocante fast is not my style, but I had Amy-Doll at my heels and she is a lightening fast scooper. Drive me nuts!
Back in the car we bartered and traded with each other like kids do with their Halloween candy.
Nevertheless, today "A" has the "upper hand" she has something I want and I cannot tell you until she gives it to me… no it is not the French antique bedsheet above, Lieselotte bought it for me. That was nice! A are you listening?
While I am waiting for A. to trade with me I am hoping you will try to guess what it is that I want from her. If you do guess I will give you something ultra delicious…
(But do not worry I won't give you a steak I promise!)
