Cream table clothes, brown wicker chairs, and hand painted walls adds to the atmosphere in the dining room. A paper umbrella turned upside down is used as a clever lampshade on the ceiling.

Orange curtains, and a corresponding orange lampshade bring in the season's colors cheerfully.

Tallman Bedroom

A bedroom with perfectly mix and match textiles. A stripped pillow, on a floral quilt, blends perfectly with the floral wallpaper and checkered curtains. The painted black bed frame and the stark white pillows sets off the autumn theme with pronounced flair.

Perfect lined frames showcasing birds line the stairwell.

Armchairs tallman

I love the upholstered armchairs, the trim especially! Note the floral rug, the contrast of subtle colors, textures and antiques so spot on with its design that it chic without making you feel uncomfortable. A perfect harmony.

Brown transferware

Brown transfer ware, plaid shawl used as a tablecloth and a pom pom trimmed curtain.

Autumn design color palette:
Beige, Brown, cream, burnt orange, melon, golden yellow, black, sage green.

Decor details, bouquets with mushrooms, twigs, pumpkins, plaids, and transfer ware plates in brown.

  1. Corey, Just another thing that gives me the feeling of the “ties that bind” all of us together. First of all Tallmans, a wonderful place! Second, Northern California… a geographic location where I live. Third, Victoria Magazine… I have every single issue of that magazine when it was first published. Then when it went out of publication, I was sad. Now its back, and getting better by the issue… and now to find that you are contributing to it! Yay! You mentioned 2008…? Now I’m going to have to go back and look through my magazines to find that one. (:

  2. PS: I have just recently become absolutely in love with brown transfer ware… now to find a whole set? I’m searching…

  3. Beautiful decor, it feels so fresh natural and clean. Thank you for sharing with us in the fall nesting party, it really is a great theme to inspire all kinds of creative ideas.

  4. My goodness. Didn’t realize those photos were yours in the magazine. Must search out my own issue. 🙂
Love the colors as well. Very comforting is Fall.

  5. Oh! what a wonderful life you live, how I wish I were in your shoes! Can you adopt me? I am a young woman looking to live in France to become a pastry chef. I could bake you the most wonderful pastries for breakfast and then we can go antiquing in the afternoon.
