No place like home, unless it is the Brocante

Abandon-chair

French Husband is driving me to my favorite brocante in all of France! Chapelle Naude, or Grange Rouge, the brocante in a cow pasture. Boots are a must.

I never ever thought I would give away this secret of mine… see what having good friends can do to you!

If ever you are in France and near Beaune on the first Sunday of July, or on the first Sunday of September, and if you love old brocante things…think no more, and head over to Grange Rouge! You will not be disappointed.

French Husband asked me if this brocante was worthy of the six hour drive?

"Duh!"

He has no idea how much fun he is going to have, no idea! But tonight in the back of the car I will make sure he doesn't regret it and I betcha he'll want to come with me to all the brocantes after that.

Like I said he has no idea how much fun he is going to have, no idea!

Corey, Isn’t this the brocante you went to last year that was closed for some reason last year? can’t wait to see you.

    Hi Ellen
No, this is a fair that happens twice a year, and only during summer. I am usually in California and miss it, or at least I have in the last few years.
The fair that was canceled that you are thinking of was the one at the Chateau Barben. That was earlier this Spring.
    See you soon

  12. You are an impish little thing aren’t you!! I think you must be more limber than my 50 something body to entertain FH in the backseat!!!
Have enough fun to pass around to all of us!

  13. Corey you are too much fun! I hope you find a buried treasure!

  18. You little vixen !!!!
The other day the gals at my office were talking about their husbands and how to get them to do the things they want or let them have things they want…..and one of them said “it is easy, I just ask in my undies, he says yes every time !!!” Is that what you did ? HA !!!!!!
    What a fun fun time….

One of the things that I would like to see what the back of these cars look like–where did you and Nathalie sleep, and where will you and FH sleep? What does it look like when it’s covered by blanket? How big is it? Where do you use the facilities?
I have hard time imaging sleeping two people in those little Citroens and VWs that I saw everywhere in the Luberon.
Do people ever show up in a RV Winnebego or a real camping tent or does everyone rough it out and sleep in the back of a car?

If I remember correctly, the last time you were in the back of a car, security cops came knocking on the windows. Are you going to jump out and take care of them like your friend ?

Ooh la la Corey! I am sure that he will want to attend all future brocante’s with you. I knew I was doing something wrong. Going to try your method for next weekends Antique Sale…or perhaps I’ll start working on that so that he will send me to Round Top. Hope that you enjoyed your day – wink wink.

  24. Let the good times roll! Blessings, Kimberly

  25. Corey~
I absolutly can’t wait to see what you found!! I am still going CRAZY over those little boxes with Paris post marks and wax seals! I know this is really silly… but will you sell me one Pretty Please?? I am dying! I have never been a jealous person until I met you! You drive me nutz… but it is a good nutz:) I am going to Paris next month and will be hunting for those boxes.

  26. I was in Beaune, but it was in June.
Six hour drive! That’s a long way. It would take me that long to drive to San Jose from southern CA. I do think you owe it to FH to make his time worthwhile.

  27. Corey, wishing you and FH all the fun!!!
and to find everything you’re hoping will be traveling back home with you at the brocante.
