French Mimosa

old wine glasses

oranges

Saturday morning, sparkling water, no champagne, fresh squeezed orange juice, chilled wine glasses, a mint leaf or two, fig jam, made pancakes, ate a few while standing at the kitchen counter flipping the other ones on to a plate. Three hungry bears, Goldie Locks, blue skies, morning yawn…

Good Morning Sunshine!

Early Louisiana Morning. The house is quiet soft rain falling. It’s gonna be a lovely day. http://underthecajunsun.blogspot.com

  10. Hotcakes eaten while standing at the kitchen counter flipping the others are the very best, the hottest and freshest — mmmm! Now that our summer heat is abating I feel like running the stove more in the morning. Must remember to place a carton of buttermilk on this week’s shopping list!!!

Homemade breakfast on a Saturday morning… a little mint leaf in the glass. My men would appreciate that.
When I was in France this summer, fig jam was my confiture de choix. How did you know?
Here it would be: French toast made with baguette and a little Grand Marnier and orange peel in the egg mixture, maple syrup and mixed berries (from frozen).

  17. Whole wheat waffles, butter and real maple syrup sprinkled with freshly picked (just this morning) raspberries from my garden. Add a fresh cup of coffee and that all adds up to heaven.
Sounds like heaven showed up at your house today as well !!!!

  20. Morning, Corey, another beautiful sun-filled morning in Northwest WA – Mt Baker was so clear in the gorgeous sunrise. Fresh peaches just dripping with juice and a squeeze of lime over, homemade marmalade and flax bread, french press coffee on the deck with my beloved – mmmmmmm.
