Jet lag is holding me Hostage

chimney runner,

I'll post as soon as I can… I arrived, though my suitcases did not… When the lost and found department asked me to describe what was inside I said, "Rolls of linen, old documents and a black dress."

They thought I was a bit goofy. If only they knew how goofy-

Off to sleep…. in this wonderfully amazing home!!

  1. Dear Corey-la-chineuse-extraordinaire,
Your description of the contents of your suitcase made me laugh out loud!
I’m so glad you arrived safely and hope you have a wonderful, wonderful time.

  2. Wow, you are fast. Enjoy your time in Georgia. I have never been but I know you will entice me with your descriptions.
Sorry about your suitcases! That is my nightmare every time I travel. I will say a prayer that your linens will come back to you soon. Oddly enough, earlier today when I read about your packing difficulties I thought, “I probably have some cute sheath/sun dresses that I have sadly outgrown, maybe I could pass them on to Corey to fill out her stateside wardrobe.” How random, but God was trying to put me in mind of praying for the “luxury” of your luggage to end up where you are. Good night Corey.

Corey we’ve never met nor do I know we ever will but I am THRILLED you’ve arrived! That luggage will arrive as well, I’ll whisper in His ear on your behalf. 🙂
    Oh fun!

  4. I hope that your lack of luggage doesn’t keep you from enjoying your time in GA! I went to school in Savannah, so I hope you enjoy some great food while there. Sending prayers to Saint Anthony for you so that your suitcase might be found!

“Rolls of linen” was a very appropriate wording for Customs. As a common victim of such temporary loss, claims agents have always returned my bags. But they overlook the importance of that black dress and those letters. And what will you bring back from the New World?

  6. Rest well, Corey and have a beautiful time with your friends. I’m praying that your suitcase and all of its contents will return to your hands tomorrow!!
    Welcome back to the States!

  7. Time for a new little black dress. Poor you. Airline travel is not much fun especially when they loose your bag.

  8. welcome home! (it is great to have several places in the world that you can call home -because people that you love are there as well-)
Enjoy your time!!!!!!!!!!! have fun!!!! spread the love! we are with you in your wonderful journey that so kindly you share with us
(the suitcases will arrive as well, all this linen and papers -and your black dress- are looking to join you, I’m sure)
    xoxo

  9. I hope they reunite you with your suitcase very soon. Black dresses can be replaced, but old documents, and rolls of linen? To lose those would be just awful. You brief post did make me chuckle though, I can just imagine the reaction of the people when you told them about the contents of your case. Teeeheeee.

  10. I want to know more about this amazing home . I’m sure your antiques bagage , will arrive pretty soon.I’m following you

  11. I must confess that your description made me LOL too…and then I felt your pain.
I imagine they have heard it all when it comes to the contents of suitcases.
Praying that your next post is a report on the arrival of your suitcases.
    Sweet dreams, Corey…zzzzzzzz

I can’t help smiling at one situation – if they mix up your luggage with another person’s :
you getting the case of a Tupperware lady and the Tupperware lady getting yours … !!!
Have a great time … in any colour !!!

Sleep well & long & awake refreshed ready to begin your adventure. On the positive side, one black dress is easily replaced if necessary. Less so the other goodies but if the worst comes to the worst imagine how much you can bring back ! Sorry it has been a stressful start but looking forward to you waking up and the adventure beginning, perhaps with a snapshot of this beautiful home… wake up Coco..wake up, Jxx

  14. Dear Corey, Diogenes said it all for me. p.s. I really hope your luggage turns up.

  15. Hope your linen and documents arrive safely soon..oh ya also your black dress!!! Enjoy your visit and have a blast!!!!

  20. Wow Corey, you really did learn to travel lightly on the bike trip! Praying your luggage will swiftly find you!

  21. Enjoy your nap and the remainder of your trip. I’m thrilled that no matter how tired you may be you still write everyday and send beautiful pictures. Until tomorrow…

  22. oh dear, I certainly hope the bags have reappeared! I am sure they will soon, hard to get your luggage confused with probably anyone else’s!

  25. Dear Corey,
good to know that you had a safe trip, hope you´ll recover from the jetlag (or linenlag) in spite of all the exitement. They must have got the impression that you are a traveller from a previous century , carrying old documents.
    Love, Lieselotte

  26. I hope they find it soon for you.

  27. oh no!! not fun

  28. So glad you arrived in the US safe. I hope you and your luggage are reunited soon. I know that you will make this another amazing adventure to enjoy and envy. Prayers that you are feeling like yourself again very soon. Take care.

    I found you on Eryl’s blog. . .
I too love your description of the contents of the suitcase. . .

I am now trying to figure how to stuff one of their green phones in my bag…
They will find your bags ! all will be well.
    cheers… parsnip

  31. i could go on about my recent trips to los angeles and saint louis and the hellish-ness of both in regards to luggage and missed connections and my less than tolerant attitude but…will refrain.
glad you made it safely. you probably should have done a carry on with the camera gear…i do that so as at least i have that 🙂
hugs and best to you as you go off into the setting sun on your texas adventures 🙂

  32. Dear Corey,
hope you´ll get both of them, as you need to continue your mission ( blogging & brocanting ), .I learned from your bad luck to pack a toothbrush, a pair of knickers, medication and camera into my hand luggage on my next flight.
    This goes to FH .
Cher mari célibataire ( is that correct French ?),
have you ever heard of MBT shoes ? They change your way of walking. My sister got a pair and her pain in the lower back disappeared immediately. Check it out on
