First Dibs at the Brocante

Waiting to go to the Brocante

….waiting to go to the Brocante.

This morning while typing this post for my blog I am waiting for Mimi to come by. I do
not know Mimi. Nevertheless she reads my blog which means she knows more about me than I  know about her. Though what I do know about Mimi is this:

She loves the brocante. Do I need to know more?

In a few seconds she will ring my phone (that is what I told her to do when she got to my street) and I will run out and jump in her car and away we will go. I know this is an unusual way, a far from normal or proper way of meeting someone for the first time… but very much my way of doing things when it comes to brocanting and meeting blogging buddies like you.

Yes when it comes to meeting people, and going to the brocante- jumping in is my style. Time is a precious thing when it comes to doing what we love isn't it?

I'll share our adventures with you tomorrow… unless I stuff her in an armoire somewhere  because she starts buying up everything I love– In all honesty, I might have to do that…. forget friendship, forget love..forget me writing about it.

Moral of the Story:

If you come over to meet me, and we go brocanting (Brocanting is a word I made up by using the French word 'Brocante' which means antique market and changing it into an English verb.) together: I have first dibs.

  5. Bon aventure! Be good, kind & thoughtful as they taught you in the monastery…that means ” no stuffing of people in armoires”…

    Ha!
When we went “brocanting” you missed a lot of goodies, so I wouldn’t have the slightest problem with you’re “having first dibs”
    🙂

  12. I love to go to fleas markets and handmade cratf markets, I’m entitled to come regardless?

  13. Of course you would have fist dibs! I would be in such a daze to even go to a brocante, you would have to slap me into reality. I am known as a power shopper in every aspect, I’ve learned how to “scan” booths at flea markets, antique malls and I’m good at it. I feel like the Terminator – scanning for what I love in each booth. On a mission is my motto. HAVE FUN

  14. AWWWW MMMAAANNNNNN !!!!!
    I WANNA GO TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

  15. And if I spot something you might like, would call your attention to it. Have fun and happy hunting.

  16. Carolyn Mallin

Oh it sounds like so much fun. I wish I could be there. I don’t really know one antique from another but I’m sure to get some pointers from you.
    Carolyn

  17. Ok, you get first dibs since you will be showing me the ropes and taking me to your secret places. Have fun!

  18. You are a sweetheart! Also thanks for the Linkwithin addition to the postings. I have been reading a while and I feel I know your site inside out but entries are popping up that I didn’t catch glimpse of before and now get to appreciate. Have fun.

  19. Wish I could go shopping with the girls. I am off to work today. No fun. Have a great time, can’t wait to see what you find!

  20. (I keep meaning to say that I love to see Jeanne comment each day – how lovely it must be to see her words of love and affirmation each day, smiling back at you Corey!)
Hey! I’m with Paula! I WANNA GO TOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Come pick us up after you meet Mimi, okay? 🙂
Wishing you both lots of fun and good finds today!

You get the right to even choose whatever first, even if it is not the piece closest to you!
