I just shared nonjudgemental laughter was with my son, who turns 5 tomorrow. He related to those types of scenes. No-overanalyzing, shear joy of the moment.

Snow in the south of France and singing in bed with an adorable child. Now that is living!
somewhere in the bowels of my house are boxes containing 12 years worth of cassette tapes that we used back in the day before youtube – each month i would make a 60 minute tape for my parents who lived stateside while we lived in spain. i’d record the kids singing in spanish or them talking about their lives in their mixture of spanglish for the grandparents. one of my goals for this year is to listen to those and get them digitally recorded for my daughter to play for her son someday. sweet moments in life not to be missed! thanks for the reminder.
