Blue Skies Brocante Calling

Tub

Man gone on business.

Daughter gone with love.

Boy gone on BMX.

Blue skies.

Mother home,

took a long bath…

then the blue sky peeked through.

Chair

Brocante calling after weeks of rain.

    Have a lovely day Corey.
Up here we are almost snowing down, and my husband is in charge of keeping the roads clean – og my!
I got a new oven in the kitchen yesterday, modern and perfect, so my day will be filled with baking and cooking…….and alot of guests for dinner.

  2. Football for some….not for me!
Have fun at the brocante…..find treasure!
    Happy hunting! :)Laura

I’d rather be brocanting. At 57 I am going to my first SuperBowl party today and I don’t even like bowling. (Just kidding, I know SuperBowl is some kind of ball game.) The upside is that I am making caramel corn to take and I am wolfing it down to my heart’s content in the process.
    Have fun poking through boxes!

  4. Yes, it is the big day. We are shoveling out from 2 plus feet of snow here (a little south of Washington D.C.). The game will be on with homemade Buffalo wings, spinach dip and onion dip (I made the chocolate cake yesterday). There is no place to go but to sit, knit, cook and eat!

  5. Hi Corey,
Superbowl Sunday in the U.S. I think. We have rugby here in Edinburgh. Scotland versus France!!! Whilst on that subject, I saw a man who looked decidly like French Husband in Edinburgh yesterday. Anyway, I digress, enjoy your Sunday and antique hunting.

  6. The fact that you love the food made me laugh. My 18-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son only sit with me during football games for the snacks. Tonight we’re having her 18th birthday party during the Super Bowl. Gasp! She’s had 35 guests confirm they are coming, so I guess not everyone watches the Super Bowl. Eat American today in honor of the Super Bowl.

  7. Enjoy your day brocanting!!! Our German friends are coming over and making us goulash and homemade dumplings!!

  8. I can’t think of anything more fun to do than go to the brocante….LUCKY YOU!!!!even though I have been up before dawn..my 2 grandkids decided it would be fun to wake up early on a Sunday morning…now we’re watching STAR WARS…and it only 8 am….

  9. Yes, it is football day here in the US. We always have a Super Bowl Party with our family. However, it is not the typical SBP. Often, we don’t even know which teams are playing. Often, nobody even looks at the TV unless it’s a commercial or halftime. But we DO eat and visit and play with the kids and catch up. It’s a lazy day for all of us and now I must get busy making all the goodies – oven baked shrimp, deviled eggs (which my nephew called rubber eggs when he was a tiny boy and which has stuck with the family), a veggie tray and bruschetta, and fruit. Bon Appetite and go _________(you fill in a team name – we aren’t particular)

  10. The Super Bowl would be more fun if “our” Steelers were playing in it (sigh) They won in 2006 and 2009, so if you combine that with the Penguins capturing the 2009 Stanley Cup, well, we’ve become rather accustomed to living in the “City of Champions”!
We received 22″ of snow in this weekend’s big blizzard. When Farmboy Husband arrived home from school Friday, he prudently parked the car down by the road. So yesterday when he got started on digging us out, he only had to shovel a “bunny path” (one shovel-width) from the house down to our snow-obliterated vehicle. Once the weather warms up later today — it was only 2°F (= -16°C) at 8 AM when I got up, but at least it’s sunny! — he’ll finish the driveway, so he can get out in order to go school tomorrow.

I totally forgot it’s the Super Bowl today. I wonder if my husband will let me get away with ignoring it.

  12. Now, you know we’d all change places with you any day, not just Super Bowl Sunday! I used to go shopping every Super Bowl. That was my old life. My man has had a Super Bowl every year for years. He does all the cooking, don’t you love it? I make the tables look pretty, like who cares, it’s football.
Our best friend, Will, is recovering from cancer surgery and bless his heart, he told us we’d better have this party, he’s ready to walk over and hang out. Our friend, Vicki just returned from her son’s wedding in Hawaii and we cannot wait to share in her joy. It is a for our “friends” that we do this party, oh, and the best commercials.
I also hesitate to tell you, but it is a Mexican food theme this year. Sorry.
I will be thinking about you treasure hunting, though. Lucky woman, indeed.

Hi Corey, Happy Belated Birthday! I am on my way to 62! Yes today is Superbowl Sunday..not fond of the game thing..but love the food day! Duck dinner for 9 here today..Have fun, God Bless…

  14. Yes..it is football today…we have a big snowstorm coming, so I guess we will hunker down, watch the game…and eat

  15. Enjoy your brocante day!

  16. Hope you find some treasures today—-how silly–of course you will—and in honor of the food…eat something fried and greasy—could you even find that?

Sun also came calling in Southern California after a week of torrential rains…we here in Long Beach are blessed with glorious blue sky, puffy white clouds and green washed clean from exhaust soot and leftover fallout from the autumn fires..
    Temperature 58 degrees…
Some fleas markets today but I’m more of a garage sale girl myself…The prices at the fleas are a bit over the top for me in Southern Cal..Europe, quite a different story!!! xxxcaw

Lucky you, getting to go brocanting. Today is the first sunday of the month and the Alameda swap meet is going on. It’s 60 degrees and beautiful out, after lots of rain here too. Alameda antique swap meet is heaven on earth. HUNDREDS of antique dealers in a huge parking lot, all trying to get you to part with your money. It’s easy to find great stuff. It’s hard to go home with any money. You also end up with dog tired feet from all the walking but it’s always worth it. I had to work!! bummer for me.

  20. Yes it’s Super Bowl Sunday but we girls have always had a girls day out and the guys get the kids(willingly). Now they are all teens and watch the game anyway so no biggie. We had 20″ of snow yeterday but we did get to go out junking at GoodWill and found amazing stuff!
Hope you get to go soon and find new treasures!

  21. Yes, go Saints!!! Have a long Mardi Gras!!!!!!!

  22. Natalie Thiele

I went to the Super Bowl party got in the pool (no swimming), won $20 and am thinking about next week’s flea market Sacramneto has every second Sunday.

Yes, the food was the best. Vegetarian lasagna and bratwurst to appease both camps. Everyone was happy and we are stuffed!

  24. AmyKortuem

Oh, was there football today? Hmmm. I was busy writing music! (much easier on the budget than my neverending quest for more Jadeite!)

  25. Superbowl Sunday, Salsa & Chips, after a birthday visit for a friend I think he is 84. I made him the apple Tarte Tain you gave us the receipe for. He thought it was just wonderful. thank you for making me look so good.

  26. Brenda L from TN

Yes…today was THE big day…alas, Peyton’s team did not win…Living in Tennessee also makes me a big VOL fan and I remember going to the home games and watching Peyton play. He was simply great. The state fell in love with him and so has Indiana….and Colts fans everywhere. As long as he is there I am a Colt fan. Congrats to the Saints.

  27. Sara Tofanelli-Barroso

beautiful photo of the blue-ish chair!

  28. Corey, Hope you had a lovely day alone, blessedly! SuperBowl Sunday has no effect on me. A good day to work at home. (a good day to shop too, as everyone is at home!) Happy Week, Sherry

  29. Definitely football day. The Saints won. Great morale boost of Nawlin’s. I think even Indiana might have been secretly a little happy for them.

  30. Shower Stalls

Great poem I cant wait for the game.

I think there are many points that are in discussion about such issues and there will always be that regardless of whether they are unable to adapt to the different changes over time are necessary
