Day Tripper

Map-of-france

The sun woke us up,
The yesterday's rain clouds have sailed away.
We grabbed a map.
Tied our hair back.
Started Willow,
A day trip around Provence.
Poppies are on the agenda,
as well as a quaint place to have a bite to eat.

Today is a holiday in France.

What are you doing today?

  1. That sounds lovely, I’m currently in the UK visiting my family for three weeks. It’s been 2.5 years since I was hear last so it’s a real trip down memory lane. Enjoy.

  2. Enjoy your day out and, please, when you look at one of those meadows filled with poppy flowers, take a deep breath for me:
The sun’s out, the dog’s been walked, I made myself a cup of coffee.
I have run out of excuses not to sit down and study.
It was only yesterday, that I watched one of my favorite scenes of Zeffirelli’s “Brother Sun, Sister Moon” again, mostly for the meadows filled with poppy flowers:

  3. Me!! Nothing .. except boring things, and seeing my husband off, for yet another trip, this time to Turkey (Formula 1) for work.

  4. I am packing up my kitchen for a total remodel. It is exciting, but also very sad. Even tho’ my kitchen is old and doesn’t function well, it still has memories. Oh, how I wish I were driving around Provence today! When my sister and I are in the south of France we will drive down any road that looks interesting to explore, not caring at all if we get lost. What a wonderful place to get lost!

  5. I’m doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Day off work so grocery shopping, post office, library, making appointments, knitting, cooking, baking and exercising. I hope you had a wonderful time!

  6. Off to the shop I go…..looking forward to interacting with our customers. It is a beautiful day today!!!

  7. It’s a holiday here in Canada too
I plan to make each moment MAGIC
    I love you
    Enjoy your holiday
    Love you
    Jeanne♥

  8. It is a beautiful day here in New England and I am off to spend the day with my two little grandsons. A walk to the park to feed the ducks and maybe bubbles in the yard. Life is good!

  9. After a coolish weekend with a fair amount of rain, this morning dawned sunny with light breezes. Unfortunately it’s supposed to get warmer (80s) as the week progresses, and I don’t like hot weather. Good thing I grew up in the Bay Area, cuz I never would’ve survived in the Central Valley!
We’re both just staying home today, working at our respective computers all day. I should be able to get through a few more pages of the novel I’ve been translating the past several weeks — it’s a long slog, with so much still left to do. Oh well, “bird by bird…”

  10. We’re having a coolish day (for Phoenix) so I wish I could say I’m spending it outside. Today I will be photographing jewelry all day and loading it into my shop, it’s not outside, but it is at least fun. Also hosting a little giveaway on my blog later so it’s fun all around. Wait, I also really need to do the laundry – less fun.

  11. Certainly not having a great ride around Provence. Lucky you!!

  12. Today is a self imposed Holiday for our family. My daughter has been visiting from New York. So excited to enjoy our Northern California Weather and it is truly a dreary day.
Her sister and brother in law have taken the day off as well as her father and I. Happy Day. Our days are not long enough and the week slipped away much to fast. I am grateful for the time we have shared. I am content.

  13. Expanding my portfolio today, trying to get work and trying to feel creative. No work in two months and none in the near future is making me crazy. I don’t mind being a starving artist, but a homeless one?……

  14. A day trip around Provence! What could match that?!? I will not even attempt. How delightful!!!

  15. going to work, but only for half a day (that is if i can convince my boss of this idea).
but i’d rather be home with my husband for a day off together (it’s been a week since we’ve really seen each other).

  16. SWEATING! Last week I had the heat on. Today it will be ovr 90 degrees. Minnesota weather is grueling!
For sure, my day will include icy-cold drinks (lemonade, probably), sitting in front of the fan and doing some writing on my book.
    whew.

  17. Taking a drive around beautiful lake Winnipesaukee to my favorite nursery to buy some vegetable plants for the garden. It’s a gorgeous spring day in New England!

  18. Sunshine! – the rain too has past here (at least for the moment!)
Today is at home enjoying our beautiful spot and maybe getting some honey-do’s done with my honey 🙂
Find a road less travelled and enjoy the ride!

  19. Running seven miles while daydreaming of Provence of course. You lucky girl, Corey! What is the holiday in France?

  20. Your day sounds delicious! I think I will take your day. Mine will be cleaning up papers on my desk, visiting the post office, and visiting a tea shop to show them my wares (Marmalady’s that is).

  21. enjoying a quiet afternoon working on my quilt project and having afternoon tea.

  22. Julie Ann Evins

Hope the day lived up to its promise. I am seriously craving Provence at present but regrettably I do not think we will be there this year, the first in a long time. I have spent a busy day with my father & Grace here. 84 & 2 can be a tricky combination but rewarding nevertheless. My D fell out of bed here last night and now looks like he has been in the ring with Mike Tyson. Its been a super hot day here and I have been too busy to enjoy it. All in a good cause ! With love, Jx

  23. working today…dreaming of France! just got back from San Luis Obispo.

  24. Sending my oldest son back to the Army after a ten day leave. 🙁 Your day sounds much better.

  25. We’re celebrating Canada Day by opening our wee shop, This White Shed. We live in an old schoolhouse in a very pretty part of Canada…lot’s of sunshine, lemon lavender loaf, brightly painted furniture, and big smiles… this is our third day and it’s fun, fun, FUN!

  26. Today was “field day” at school. I was outside with 3-6 grades all morning and k-2 all afternoon. Blazing heat has hit the midwest and I think I should have melted into the grass! But the children enjoyed one of their last days of school, so it was worth it. Glad to be home in the air conditioning now. Off to fix dinner.

  27. Lora Gohn

I was working (insert sad face) and now surfing. Would much rather be on the back of a motorcycle in Provence!

  28. Already plodded through 6 more pages today!!! Would’ve done more but I craved a late afternoon nap, then when I returned to the novel I encountered a long ¶ with some sort of bizarre parable (fable? myth?) that I still don’t entirely understand even though I think I translated it accurately (sigh). Maybe it’ll make more sense in the morn. Or I can just toss it to my two co-translators ;-)))

  29. What holiday are you celebrating? ENJOY!
    Blessings!

  30. Elaine L.

I spent the day writing end of the year student assessment reports.
I would have much rather done what you’re doing.

  31. What a wonderful way to spend the day! I think today I’ll be staying inside out of the rain…maybe do some organizing in my craft area. Not so exciting but maybe it will spur me on to greater things! Looking forward to seeing your photo’s…I know they’ll be beautiful. Take care

  32. Corey,
Sounds like a relaxing day for you. Me….I’ll be waiting for my daughter and grands to get here from Tennessee. Getting the house ready and then pack…which I hate…for our Disney trip at the end of the week. Disney is always so hectic…would love your day.
    XOXO
    Gwen

  33. Uh curled up on the sofa with a bad cold, yuck. Coughing, sneezing, chills, hot, cold, my body is going crazy. Have a fabulous time.
