Hens-and-chicken

Photos and text by Corey Amaro:

A yellow wall is the background for a planter of hens and chickens.

Flowers-by-shutters

The summer nights are full of light. Eight in the evening, the shutters are shut, and the flowers reach out for the last golden light.

Balcony-with-wine

A small balcony over looking the port.

Clothes-hanging

The sky was blue, the sea was blue, the laundry on the line was blue….

Shutter-green

Classic dark green shutters and a touch of pink.

Red-chairs

Outdoor cafe. Simple put.

Wash-cloth

One blue wash cloth pinned with a yellow kiss.

Provence-Menu

Menu twenty four euro.

Blue-door

Lovely. Lovely. Photos! How do you get a blue faded washcloth to look arty?! You are either mad or inspired…!!!

  2. Great photo’s Corey. Wish I were there.
    It looks devine. Yvonne

  3. Beautiful. Can’t wait to see the results of your Nice and Cassis brocanting on TICA!

  4. Do you ever get to Nance, I am not sure of the spelling? I was in my late teens when I visited there. My boyfriend Patrick was from there. That was many years ago. What a rich life you lead living in such beauty. Thank you for letting us tag along.

Was your Kir Royal served with “liqueur de cassis”, by any chance ???
    Winking cheers !!!

If I ever get to visit France again, I think I’ll head down that way..

I am doing some preliminary planning for revisiting Provence next year and the Cassis area is near the top of my list of “must see” sites.
looking back your March 16th post, you featured a door knocker. My wife is crazy for these beautiful pieces and we were lucky to find a pretty nice one last May in the Auvernge. If you ever come across similiar ones, we would love to consider it!!

You have inspired me to have a small dinner party with a French theme.

I love that your artists eye catches delicious moments. They seem suspended in time…but many times are timeless images. Beautifully done Corey.

Stunning! Your photos brought back so many wonderful memories. Wish I could be there eating bouillabaisse and soaking up the sunshine right now.

  13. Such lovely visions to start another rainy day here in the midwest. Your photos capture so much of the spirit of the day and I thank you for sharing Cassis.

OK, anyone who can find romance in a hanging blue washcloth NEEDS TO WRITE A BOOK!!!! You are imbued with creativity!!!

  15. Why does everything look so “perfect” in Paris? Hanging clothes in NY is not a pretty site at all…hanging clothes in Paris…tres chic! haha Thanks for sharing Grace xoxo

Am I seeing things? Is the blue washing also hung out with blue clothes clips?! Now that’s taking color coordination to a new level I think;-)
    Beautiful photos, thank you.

i love all the colors, shutters, and flowers! I would love to go there one day!

  22. So lovely, and loved yesterdays Nice photos. Reminds me of some of my honeymoon! Too bad my suitcase was jammed full by the time we made it to the Nice Brocante. Husband was happy, but I still regret not at least buying a spoon or something-anything.

In Cassis, you drink Cassis wine “rosé”, not Kir Royal, shame and scandal :o)

  24. Corey, you have such an eye for art – simple things become beautiful due to color, placement, theme, and more. You’re a real inspiration to me!
I will see my high school girlfriends this weekend after a number of years apart. One lives not far in the bay area and so I will ask her plenty about possibilities for Chelsea. Have you had anything work out yet?

Oh yes!!!! Kir. I haven’t had Kir in years. It used to be my drink of choice. Now you’re going to send me out for a bottle of Cream de Cassis.
