Douce, Provence

Sweet France, the first day of summer holidays.
Half of France is on the road today, driving to the seaside, or the mountains, or somewhere to be. Somewhere to laugh, to rest, and enjoy the simple pleasures that soak the heart warming it in the winter months to come.
Bonnes Vacances mes Amis!

Love the photos and slide show, a holiday anywhere in France sounds lovely! Well it’s Independence Day here in the good old USA, and I must say, it’s meaning more to me all the time. Every year I lived in the UK I hung my flag from our cottage, and every year I had American tourists who spotted it stop in to say hello! My elderly neighbor, always dress to the nines, would bring me a huge bouquet of flowers and wish me a “Happy Independence Day.” I was proud of my country and they were so respectful and delighted to see my patriotism. We will have parades, fireworks and bar-b-ques all around our little piece of New England this weekend in celebration of the Freedom we still enjoy. God Bless America!

Whoops…sorry I missed by a day..Independence Day is tomorrow, but of course our band is playing for a big fireworks event celebration tonight so I was thinking it was today…silly me!! I just think of the whole weekend as July 4th!!

And here in the USA we celebrate Independence Day this whole weekend with fireworks, picnics in the park, beach or BBQ in the backyard. But we must all remember that freedom is not free.

Happy Holidays Corey. We are having a weekend of cookouts, long conversations, and watching the young ones play with their sparklers later in the evening. They will be competing with the lightening bug.
The neighbors kids are here from Conn., so it will be a fun evening of swimming and eating.
    hugs…love you video.

Such well-grounded images of Provence from Mother Earth. No need to take photos from flying machines unless you feel the need.
PS. Charles Trenet’s song “La Mer” is a classic often translated into English.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd_nopTFuZA
