Up to Norway

If you read French-

If you like to look at photos-

If you like French Husband-

If you would like to see the ride to the North Cape-

If you have free time-

You might want to check out Yann's blog about their adventure:

UP TO NORWAY click here to go to his blog.

(Yesterday, Francis and Yann rode to Milano, Italy, then around the lakes, and over Stelvio Pass, into Trafoi, Italy. 700 plus kilometers / Ten hour ride.)

I am closing my comments today in hopes that you will CHEER them on by posting a comment on his blog.

Would love to comment if my French were better – maybe you can do a summary…

  4. Aak. Now I do wish that I remembered more of my 1 year of college French.

He took a wireless laptop with him….what a 21st Century fella you have!! MR CCC can barely figure out how to use his Netbook…lol! I will check out the blog; is he taking photos too?

For those who don’t speak French, here a web site that will translate everything FH writes: http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_txt

so what are YOU doing today, Corey?

  8. Kathie B.

As a professional translator I naturally take a slightly dim view of the quality of online translating software ;-)))))))
However, it tends to do semi-OK with clear expository prose like Yann’s blog, albeit yielding a somewhat stilted result. You might enjoy checking out Google Translate as well, for comparison (I thought it did a better job than Babelfish, since its premise is different):

Check for Austria of Francis and myself, tomorrow, to find our friend Dieter.
The departure from Admont, Austria, is scheduled for Saturday.
Our goal in all three: NORTH CAPE (Norway) in Moto.
We pass through Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway …

Yes, I will go to Yann’s blog but I don’t speak French. Will do the translate but my comment will have to be in English.

Hope you are not too lonesome.

Like his beautiful wife, Yann too will have many many followers.
I did cheer him on and wished him safe travel.
How exciting, you can follow him while he is gone.

Sharon, Yann’s blog is a bit crankier re posting than Corey’s is. You need to:
    1. Type your message in the text box (“Enregistrer un commentaire”).
    2. Fill out your ID at “Commentaire: Sélectionner le profil…”
    3. Optional: Hit the the “aperçu” button, if you wish to preview your message.
    4. Once you’re ready to post, click on the “Publier un commentaire” button, and wait a minute (it seems like about 60 seconds!) while the website grinds through its machinations.
    5. Finally, you’ll receive a prompt stating “Vérification des mots,” where you’ll type the nonsense-letter code into the box.
    6. Click on the “Publier un commentaire” button once again… and hold your breath!
    Bonne chance, les amis!

You are making the best of a time when your heart is its’ most fragile. There are no rules or guidelines for how one gets through these things. Even though you are physically alone, spiritually you are supported by dozens of us, every minute of every day. You are a brave, brave woman and you give me courage every day. Thank you. My heart is full for you.

    C – can’t leave FH a comment for some reason . . .doesn’t accept my URL????
