Found Red Tomatoes, Rough, and Cute

Sceneic route

Photos and text by, Corey Amaro.

It was a typical Sunday… up early, no make up, croissant in hand, money in pocket, driving the back roads towards a village in Provence….

Destination: Brocante.

Village: Entrecasteaux.

Brocante dealers: 80

Village and Atmosphere / Charm: 100%

Deals: Fair

Type of old things: Smalls, Local vendors, Linens,

What did I find?

Toile de jouy cushion

Toile de Jouy Cushion.

Fruit painting on board

Oil painting of strawberries on a plate..

Wax crown seal

A bunch of wax seals with crowns.

OH!

Toile de jouy fabric

Bits of toile de Jouy fabric……

At this point French Husband asked me if I was into red today.

I hadn't noticed but he was right, I teasingly said, "I am your tomato!"

Then he asked me if I was going to keep anything I found. Then he put his hand to my mouth and said, "Keep it, it is so nice, so pretty, so cute…."

Then I bite his hand, and he laughed. I looked at him curiously, and he added, "I like when you're rough."

"Really?" then I took the cushion and bopped his beetle, "Let's go have lunch."

 bar in France

Does this look like a man who wants a tomato?

Does he look like he is into cute and rough?

Does he seem hungry at all?

Oh the life of a passionate brocanteur.

I love a husband who knows how to entertain himself while his wife is at the brocante. (My husband is so understanding too. He also brings a book)

  3. Cute and definitely “saucey”. I will check out the red later.

Entrecastaux, to think I haven’t been there yet… I love that kind of tomato!

You two are very saucy, Oui? I love this story – a husband and wife who keep it lively! Lucky you is all I am thinking, lucky you.

  7. Hi Corey,
Did you get the wax seals? Will they be up on your site? I’d definitely have a buyer for those!
Hope you and yours are well (looks so to me!),

Well, Entrecasteaux is THE place for rare brocante findings, isn´t it ? And the 100 percent charm of the village is there, I fully agree with you.

I see the picture you are painting
    fabric
    drapped across
    the
    girl
    the girl resting
    upon
    the bounty
    of
    the
    brocante….
    ….red-licious pillows
    a little
wax to drip upon the girl while
    she
    entices
    french husband
    with saucy, plump strawberries.
    I’m loving
    your imagery
    cheers
